Hope he can provide something.  But I'd be very skeptical of any improvement if they go into training camp counting on Barrington, Lattimore, Joe Thomas, that CFL guy, and a bunch of rookies to fill 2 ILB spots.  It's one thing to line up a rookie next to Burnett, a veteran, to fix the safety position.  Completely different when you expect a bunch of unprovens to fill two ILB spots.

I really think a veteran is not just necessary, but mandatory.  You can't have an entire position group full of guys with less than a year of regular playing time at ILB.  Not sayign you need to sign a guy to 5 year deal worth $30m.  Even signing a guy like Briggs for a year or two.  Just a stop-gap that knows how to play LB in the NFL.  Really hope TT sees it the same.

If they add a guy like Spikes or Maualuga, adding another  ILB that can run(cover) is absolutely imperative. Imagine Spikes and Kendrick's inside....dream from heaven. Heck Barrington and Kendrick's would be orgasmic.

@RapSheet: #AZCardinals released Darnell Dockett, who was due $6.8M in 2015 coming off an ACL. Now he can test his market value, could be back in AZ.

@AlbertBreer: Darnell Dockett (34 in May) was due $6.8 million in the last year of his deal. Cardinals will carry $3 million in dead money.

Josh McCown is a Cleveland Brown.

The veteran quarterback and the Browns have agreed on a contract today, the team and McCown’s agent Mike McCartney both confirmed on Twitter.

McCown was released this month after a rough first year in Tampa Bay. He previously had a very promising showing during the 2013 season while filling in for Jay Cutler in Chicago. Cleveland has to hope it’s getting the Chicago version of McCown, and not the Tampa Bay version of McCown.

It must be so much fun to come up with a scenario, find "facts" to support that theory, write an article about it, and get paid for it! Talk about a sweet gig...

Not just limited to King either; it pretty much seems to be the favored method of all sports 'journalists'. Either that, or all journalism is taught at the National Enquirer.
