Not good for Dall-Ass, but looks like Guion will have a new home.

Tyrone Crawford carted off in Dallas

The Dallas Cowboys may be losing a defensive lineman for reasons other than suspension.

Per multiple reports, Cowboys defensive end Tyrone Crawford left practice on a cart after injuring his ankle in practice. Clarence E. Hill, Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram says it’s Crawford’s right ankle, and that “it doesn’t look good.”

If Crawford misses time, rookie first-rounder Taco Charlton would be thrust more deeply into the fray.

The Cowboys currently are adjusting to a defense that lost several key players to free agency, and that has had more than a few suspensions in recent years.

Combination of the guy never able to stay healthy and on the field, and a new GM who didn't draft him.  Bills had given up a first round pick to move up and draft Watkins.  They also traded CB Ronald Darby to Eagles for Jordan Matthews.

Not sure how wow that is.  Watkins has bombed out pretty bad be it injury or desire from the sounds of it.

I'm glad to see Bart putting on a uniform in the NFL.  Rumor was there were weak practice habits, but I still swear Gary Anderson nearly ruined this kid.

Anquan Boldin retires.

Great player. Better man. Godspeed, 81.

From Jim Trotter at ESPN:

" BREAKING: Anquan Boldin left the Bills today and has informed them he is retiring, ESPN has learned. "

Loved him with the Cardinals.
Old man Bidwill was still in charge and had just given Fitz a new contract and was too cheap to do the same for Q.
Would have been a hell of a pair of receivers for Warner.

From a Curt Warner PFT article...

Boldin retires at No. 9 on the all-time reception list, with 1,076. That’s more than Hall of Famers Andre Reed (951), Art Monk (940), Steve Largent (819), James Lofton (764), Michael Irvin (750), Charlie Joiner (750), Charley Taylor (649), Don Maynard (633), Raymond Berry (631), Fred Biletnikoff (589), Lance Alworth (542), John Stallworth (537), Tommy McDonald (495), Don Hutson (488), Paul Warfield (427), Elroy Hirsch (387), and Lynn Swann (336).

Good guy who loved to play the game.  Although he got away with offensive pass interference way too many times.  Still not as many as Michael Irvin.   So, yes....Boldin should make the Hall in 5 years.

Reminded me more of Sharpe than any other WR.

That's a terrific comparison.

Although Sterling was better. Maybe not quite as powerful as AQ but faster. Sharpe could do anything you wanted a pro WR to do

Should have been in Canton a long time ago.

How Boldin played 8 years after having his face crushed in back in 2008 is pretty remarkable. And he didnt change his style of play either. He went over the middle into crowds until he called it quits. Nothing but respect.

Per Adam Schefter:

Lions make Matthew Stafford highest-paid player in NFL history.
Sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Stafford agreed to a five-year deal worth $135 million to remain in Detroit.

Those numbers mean nothing until we see how much is guaranteed and how it is structured.   Kaperdicks contract looked huge too, but look where it got him.

Welp, these numbers mean something. Holy shi*

A recap from their last preseason game (granted, it was against the Pats):

When it was starters vs. starters, the Lions looked...: Terrible. Atrocious. Pick your putrid adjective. Defensively, the pass rush was nonexistent and Brady had time to shred the secondary. Offensively, the Lions couldn’t do much right, either. The team’s first three drives resulted in a turnover and two three-and-outs. It was ugly. About the only positive for the Lions was the play of safety Glover Quin, who had an interception in the second quarter and continued to be a solid veteran in the back.

One reason to be concerned: Just one? While this game doesn’t count in the standings, the Lions looked nowhere close to one of the NFL’s premier teams. They were outclassed on offense and run over on defense, and the special teams were mediocre. If Detroit looks like this in the regular season, it could be a long season.

Rodgers got 5 years and only 54 mil guaranteed which was just 49% of the total value. That was only like 3 years ago right? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't guaranteed money generally around only 40% to 60% of the total value? 92 mil guaranteed probably means the total contract is guaranteed, which is dumb IMO. Otherwise the total value is 150 to 200 mil, which is even dumber. The salary cap has only gone up what 25% since Rodgers signed his deal, 92 mil guaranteed would be a crazy increase even for Rodgers.
