If Fingers is healthy, Crew have a World Series under there belt. JMO.

Those were great years, great players, fun Milwaukee type guys.

Fingers. Wasn't Vuke injured also even though he was pitching at that point?

 

That team was something else. For about 4-5 years they were on the cusp. Simmons, Vuke and Fingers really helped them make that jump. Sutton helped the Brewers not fall short at the end of the season.

 

It is a painful to remember how close it was. I can still see Gantner yelling at Joaquin Andujar.

 

There was something about those teams. I remember going to Merl Harman's Fanfair at Mayfair and being in total Brewer heaven.

 

The Brewers and Bucks had a good run during those years but just couldn't break through.   Bucks always had to face Boston or Philly and the Brewers have never been able to get over on St. Louis.

A brand new season is just about to kick off and the big topic of conversation is a team from 30+ years ago.  Sums up this franchise perfectly.
