Story on possible collusion between Cowboys and Broncos:

NFLPA is reviewing information to determine whether there was collusion between the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys on the unsettled contractual situations of franchise WRS Demaryius Thomas and Dez Bryant, per an NFLPA official. The NFLPA believes the Broncos and Cowboys had contact about each players’ contract when the collective bargaining agreement prohibits such contact.

The NFLPA now is trying to determine if collusion did occur and when to possibly file a claim. The deadline for the WRs to sign long-term deals is Wednesday of next week.

Would not surprise me if Jerry cheats like Bill does.  One thing I noticed is that what ever he does it doesn't help him.  Tonight is all about the Dallas Cowboys on NFL Network - Jerry probably paid to dominate the night.  I was painfully reminded how good and dominating Bob Lilly was - and yet the Packers dumped his team when it counted - twice.  But no mention about that.

My impression of the NFL Network is that it is all about 5 or 6 teams mainly.  Then comes the other 25 teams that get some coverage.  But I rarely see anything about the Packers when I can watch.  I sometimes wonder how some teams get covered like a blanket in prime time.

I would bet almost everything that I have that Jones cheats like crazy and a blind eye is turned by the NFL and others.  As popular as the Patriots are they are no where near the Cowboys and the NFL wouldn't do anything to their main cash cow.

Anyhow, I agree on the NFL coverage in recent years. To me has started to be like NBA coverage because they only cover only certain teams and that is it.  The NFL network and ESPN (when they even mention football instead of the endless NBA propoganda) only mention Dallas, NE, Philly, Seattle, and the NY teams.  But at the same time I don't really care that much anymore because very few if any NFL coverage is any good anymore.

While the idea of Jerry cheating like mad and having two wild card playoff victories in 18 years to show for it makes me happy. I don't think he's cheating. I think he's simply one of the worst GM's in the history of professional football.

Regarding ESPN and the NFL Network. Watching either trying to glean some football knowledge is like asking Randall Tex Cobb to explain why "W" is a pronounced double U when it's actually double V's. He's going to talk for a while but you're not learning a damn thing.

Everything you need to know about the NFL you can get on this site or on your own. The networks exist to give the fringe fan just enough talking points so they are able to mention things like Eli Manning's regression since 2012 when they huddle around the office water cooler.

Jerry doesn't care about character and sometimes that bites you in the ass

Who could have foreseen that Dez would be a self-centered prick at contract time ?

Look at how the Packers signed two top tier WRs with barely a peep out of either one

Then watch the poop-fest in Dallas. Note the difference

Jerry doesn't care because he believes there's no such thing as bad publicity- so long as the networks have the Cowboys front and center

Agreed.

Jerry probably can't work out a long term deal because he has no long term cap room. And he has no plan for what happens next if Dez is not available.

GB has 3 top flight WRs and more in the pipe line.  And TT is 14 mill under the cap.  Further With the cap room, GB can afford to cut almost any contract on the roster with the exception of a few.  So that breeds competition - or it should anyway.

This is the beauty of always drafting punks - they never really go away

Michael the mensa Irvin on the Dez situation:

"But if you think you see better than 8-8 without Dez Bryant, I'm telling you, you will not see better than 8-8 without 88."

What makes this so perfect is that Dez was drafted in 2010 - and the cowboys finished 6-10 that year.

Dez apparently didn't help much.

Then the cowboys finished 8-8 for (3) seasons in a row... with Dez on the roster.

Again, he didn't seem to help much

Last year was the first and only winning season in Dez's 5 year career.

Over 5 seasons with Dez, cowboys won an average of ... 8 games

Thankfully, Dez' idiot predecessor was around to shine a light on the injustice

And not counting 1982 (short season), in 8 years James Lofton's Packers won an average of just under 7 games a season.

There we go, Bryant is better than Lofton and is bound for the HoF.

I hate arguments that pin the won-loss record of a sport with 22 starters (not to mention special teams) on a single player.  It's just silly.

I am not here to promote Bryant, but he sure seemed to bring his game with him in the Cowboy's very close playoff loss to the Pack.

Meanwhile, how many average wins a year did the Cowboys average while Bryant's predecessor (Irvin) played for them?

Phaedrus- you're missing the point

the point I was making was that WRs don't matter, even the very talented ones

Michael Irvin claimed the cowboys W/L record would be negatively impacted without Dez on board...I disagreed. The cowboys didn't do squat with him, so how can they be worse without him ?

Michael Irvin and most of the diva WRs have a very overinflated view of the value they bring. WRs simply don't matter to winning a Title, its a non-premium position

Irvin's cowboys would have won with or without him, they were stacked at the premium positions

How many Titles for Calvin Johnson, T.O. Randy Moss, Cris Carter etc ? zero

Diva WRs have little to show for themselves and Dez is just the next one in line

It also shows how the Packers plan ahead in their drafting - leaning toward guys who are likely to be team players and are likely to sign a 2nd contract without making it all about them.

Eff the cowboys, eff dez and eff Irvin.
