Schneider wants to take a page out of the TT handbook. No more then 4 years. And not pay him in the elite QB class either:

According to My Northwest, Seattle has offered Wilson a four-year extension at $20 million per year. That would make his four-year total $80 million. That is far from $120 million. In fact, it is $40 million less than that. This season, he will still earn $1.5 million to play.

Jason La Canfora from CBS Sports has given fans more insight into the contract negotiations.

โ€œWhat I know is the Seahawksโ€™ initial offer looked very much like the sort of band-aid bridge contracts that went to Andy Dalton and Colin Kaepernick, according to sources, with signing bonuses more in line with the $11 million Seattle handed out recently to Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas, and a pay-as-you-go structure like the lesser Dalton/Kaepernick deals. The average per year is nowhere close to the range of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, and with Ben Roethlisberger recently joining that club and Andrew Luck and Cam Newton poised to do the same in the next 12 months, I would be absolutely shocked if Wilson did any deal that wouldnโ€™t put him among the best in the game.โ€

Smart move from Schneider, I think they need to find out what life will be like without Lynch before they commit to Wilson long term. Can he carry that franchise without Lynch? I think with better receivers and a better OL he could, but it's hard to justify paying him like Aaron Rodgers or Peyton Manning when all that he's proven is that he's smart enough to run the offense, he is an exceptional runner, he doesn't turn the ball over often (except in the NFCC or in the SB), and he's unselfish with the spotlight. If he can't carry the team on his own then he shouldn't be paid like a QB that can, right now Lynch carries that team.

I think that's underselling Wilson slightly. I think Wilson's in the Flacco tier of QBs: Franchise guys, very good, but not elite. Rodgers, Manning, Brady, Brees, then probably Roethlisberger, Eli and Luck, then there's that group of guys like Flacco, Romo, Wilson, etc. that any team who doesn't have one of the elite or top guys would be more than happy with and can ascend to the next group for a year or so at least. I liken Dalton and 2014 Kaepernick to guys whom teams say "We need to get by with".

@TheShadefiles: Getting Married? Ciara and Russell Wilson Says They Will Stay Celibate Until Marriage!

@JimmyTraina: Russell Wilson on dating Ciara: "God spoke to me and said I need you to lead her. โ€ฆ He goes, no, I want you and need you to lead her."

@PackerRanter: Moses was chosen by god to lead his people out of slavery in Egypt. The same god has chosen Russ Wilson to lead a pop singer somewhere.

But Wilson also says God spoke to him after that fateful interception at the end of Super Bowl XLIX.

โ€œThe play happens, and they pick the ball off. And I take three steps,โ€ Wilson said. โ€œAnd on the third step God says to me, โ€˜Iโ€™m using you. . . . I want to see how you respond. But most importantly I want them to see how you respond.โ€

Did anyone check to see if the Pats hacked his helmet audio?  The snickering in the background might of gave it away Russ.

"Hey guys, I'm going to tell him not to tap that ass".

ya know, the more I read that quote - "but most importantly I want them to see how you respond" - the more self-serving and egotistical it gets.  seems Russ thinks he's the chosen one.  he sure believes he's got a direct line to God and that God gives a **** about pro football.  I'd sure like to see seattle struggle mightily this year just to see what God has to say to Russ about that.  probably get some Job quotes....

I was at a higher education conference in Madison a few years ago, and one of the keynote speakers was a woman from NC State.  I happened to sit by her during the lunch and talked about Wilson and mentioned "how it looks like Wisconsin got a good one from you guys".

Her response was along the lines of "You can have him.  I've met the young man and he seems to think he's God's gift."

Seems she was spot on with that assessment...

"I'm using you...I want to see how you respond"

No problem. Totally get this. Learned long ago to never question someones faith or beliefs or that God is talking directly to them (unless they were told to detonate a bus or something)

"But most importantly I want them to see how you respond"

There's a whole lot of delusional WTF in that statement. While I'm cool with Russ Wilson's faith I'm also starting to think Russ Wilson might be bat**** crazy.
