I can live with Bucky not being a #1 seed but I sure would think they would be the top #2 and it wouldn't even be close.  So they would get rewarded with top #2 seed and get to play Kentucky (assuming they both win out of course)?

I don't remember who said it on ESPN but they basically sais it would bogus if they did that UW.

As my esteemed brother pointed out-----playing Kentucky with a veteran team on two days rest/preparation might favor the veteran team.

If the c ommitteee follows the "S" curve Wisconsin should play the 4th best #1 seed, not the #1 overall seed. No way are the Badgers the 8th best team. 

They do not follow a S curve, they try and keep teams as local as possible for the #2 seeds as well

I think as of right now this is how it will play out

1	Kentucky  Midwest Regional
2	Duke East Regional
3	Virginia South Regional
4	Villanova East Regional
5	Arizona West Regional
6	Wisconsin Midwest Regional
7	Gonzaga West Regional
8	Maryland South Regional

 

So I think the team we really want to falter is Arizona, "Nova losing too would be nice as well. Then it will off to the west as a #1.

Final four this year, West will play Midwest this year

Both Virginia and Duke lose tonight. Wonder if Bucky takes this tournament whether it will be enough to slip into a one seed. Probably still need help.

 

OBTW the officiating in the ND-Duke game was as one sided towards Duke as I have ever seen. Not exaggerating, EVERY time Okafor backed in or drove he was literally throwing forearm shivers into the opponent's chest to create space. I mean real haymakers. Never called against him and indeed the ND defenders were called for fouls many times.

 

Justice was served in the end, though. Go Badgers.

We will be a 2 seed in the Midwest, no matter what. Time to kick Big Ten butt and move on to the Big Dance. I could give two sh1ts about the seeding.

 

 

Seeding , 1 or 2 does not matter....gotta won them all anyway.  I do find it somewhat strange that Duke did not win the regular season or tournament championship in the ACC and is said to be a lock for a 1 tho.

If Wisconsin wins the BT tournament there is no way they should be a 2 seed.

The only two teams ahead of them are UK and Duke - and the Devils get the head to head nod if it comes to that.

As good as Virginia and Villanova have played - and Arizona to some extent - they should not be ranked ahead of Wisconsin in seeding.  No way no how

Just heard Lunardi say Bucky, if they win the BIG 10 tourney WILL be a one.

And that's right. The Badgers win the B1G Tournament they SHOULD be a 1.

And it does matter. To us. It's never happened, and this team has earned this honor.

Isn't the Big 10 tournament final not yet over when the brackets are announced?

TV announcement is from 6-7 PM EST.

 

Big Ten Championship tips a little after 3:30 PM EST. Unless there are multiple overtimes the game will be over before the official announcement. As a practical matter the committee will have decided most of the field, seeding, and locations before mid-day today.

They will likely have a contingency set-up should the Badgers lose. I believe if they win, they will get a 1 seed, but end up on the Kentucky side of the bracket. A loss will leave them with a 2, potentially in UK's region.

Wanna be champs? Beat everybody.

The only two recent comparable BT teams to this Wisconsin team are the 2010 Buckeyes and the 2004 Illini.   Both teams were easy 1 seeds.  Barring a blowout loss today I think Wisconsin has earned it

Coming back from 11 down with 7 minutes to play. We have done enough to get a #1 seed. 

And with the win we have done enough. C'mon committee!!!

Besides Kentucky, I think the one team that can make a run throughout the tournament (besides UW) is Notre Dame.  I have seen them a couple of times this year, and they are really good.

Watch CBS hold the Wisconsin/Duke/Virginia/Arizona/Villanova selections as long as possible to keep up that Q rating

Since Kansas is #2 in the Midwest Badgers should be a #1 now. 

 

Notre Dame a tough out. Fearless. They'll give Kentucky a battle if they meet.

My 12-5 upset has to be Buffalo. Witchita St - Kansas next weekend will be a great game. Winner of that gets Notre Dame. Brutal. 

I totally agree.

Villanova is going to have their hands full with the NC State/LSU winner.  

The Badgers were a 1 on Saturday nite according to the committee chair.

Good to see UW get a 1 seed and I think they got a pretty solid draw to make it pretty far. 

I also like Michigan State.  If they can get past Virginia they might be able to get on a roll.   They are always tough in the tournament.

Maybe this is my Badger homerism coming through but a Wisconsin-Kentucky matchup in the Final Four, especially the Finals, would probably smash ratings records (although FF numbers are always ridiculous). Think of all the story lines. Last year's game, player of the year and homegrown 4 year talent versus one and dones, etc., etc.

 

Have to think the selection committee had similar thoughts.

I don't watch a ton of regular season stuff, but watched Arizona and thought, "Damn, those boys are good."

 

Too early to start worrying?

Arizona is REALLY good and I don't like UW having to play them again.  My only complaint is that I really wish they had put UW or UK on the other side of the bracket so they wouldn't face each other again the final 4.  Well that is if both teams get there.  I don't know why but I have this hunch UK is due to lose.  I wouldn't bet money on that though.

Arizona is a very good team, if they meat Bucky, it will be an intense game

Kentucky is a full 41% likelihood to win it all.  Next is Villanova at 11% and Wisconsin at 10%.  Next is Arizona at 9, Virginia at 8, and Duke at 6.

A Kentucky/Notre Dame match up will be a very good game.  If it gets to that game I am a big Notre Dame fan.
