Kidd gets HUGE props for the final sequence. They get the steal but he is first to call timeout. Brilliant move- gave them the chance. Then to dial up that play to burn the MVP? That's coaching right there. Innate. Can't teach that from a class. That's experience that won that game.

So they live to fight another day. Just sucks they couldn't get one to fall in game 3- it could be 2-2 right now. Sucks, but this team is showing us all something. They belong. Everything stacked against them and they're all riding to the occasion.

This is going to be a fun ride...

The Bucks are in a very good cap situation after this season.   They need to take care of Middleton but they have enough money to make a splash to sign a big name player.   Danny Green or Wes Matthews are unrestricted guys that could help their 3 point issues but to me the guy to go after is Jimmy Butler.  Yes he's a restricted FA and Chicago can match any offer but the Bulls are much closer to the tax threshold than Milwaukee.  They still owe big bucks to Noah and Rose.

Other than bringing back Middleton, I don't think they should do anything major in terms of adding players.

However, if they were able to trade Henson, MCW, and our 1st to move up into the top 5 I'd think about it.  At this point, I don't mind them moving pieces that the Bucks truly believe aren't a part of the core for draft picks and more cap flexibility.  The reality is we will likely see much of the same group next year and then the following summer the cap will truly skyrocket, plus we will be able to extend Giannis and add another piece at that point to the core of Middleton/Giannis/Parker and (MCW if he can be more efficient).

They're not trading MCW. That's silly.

They also don't need to get another freshman lottery pick. They need a veteran on the rise like Butler. Wes Matthews is interesting. He's a very good role player, those fg not an all star or defender like Butler. Both Marquette guys... Funny how that is. Danny Green is a system player- not sure if I would be interested in him.
I don't buy the Salmons/Butler comparison. Salmons was a turd. Big time in a contract year. Twice You can accuse Butler of maybe putting it together on a contract year, but his rise as a player wasn't just this year. The makeup mentally is hugely different from what I can see.

Matthews is a pretty dynamic scorer, but not in the same class defensively as Butler.

I know you should be leery of giving big money to second tier players, but Butler looks more like David West than John Salmons to me...

I think part of the dynamic is that no one wants to pay him max $$$, and the Bulls are tight against the cap as it is. We'll trade 'em Ilyasova... That's be a nice even trade. You can have him!
That's it! They're playing Bucks basketball now!

Finally starting to hit shots! Playing the same D. Thing of beauty! They believe, now. Bulls have that (pardon the pun) deer in the headlights look.

Can't help but go back to game 3- just get one shot to fall and its 3-2. But that's ok- getting a road playoff win shows the kind of growth we're looking for. Doesn't matter how it ends now. Proved their point. They belong.

Agree. It's all gravy now. Big turn around regular season, make the playoffs, and grow before your eyes during the playoffs. They are driving Chicago nuts. Playing tough defense, and not backing down what so ever.

Another  thing the Bucks tough defense( 8 blocked shots) did was allow them to  get out on the break. 16 points off fast break is Big.

MCW did a great job going to the rim. Will be interesting to see how the Bulls counter. The Bucks perimeter shooters better be ready for some kick outs in game six.

This team is more exciting to watch and prognosticate for the future about than the Big Dog/Ray Allen teams.

Giannis/MCW/Parker/Middleton is quite a core.  All younger than 24 i believe.  Giannis and Parker are... 20!  Not gonna get ahead of myself here, but this is a budding contender.  I think it will still take a year or two for them to find their true identity, but when you add Parker back to this team only good things will happen in the future.  Best of all.. no Herb Kohl to fux it up.

I agree with you EKB.  They shouldn't be adding any big time FA's yet, especially if it will cost them Middleton who is cheaper and just as good.

However, Butler is a quality player and isn't 30 like Salmons was when we gave him that stupid deal.  Not that 30 is old.. but you better have no questions about your work ethic or ability to hold up over the course of your contract.  Salmons obviously was a knee-jerk signing by Kohl based on the FTD run.  Butler is a good player... but I'm not sure the time is quite right for the Bucks to be making moves that will cost them chemistry (losing middleton).

I think Kidd deserves a lot of credit for many things, but getting the most out of OJ Mayo is huge. Mayo took the money to play with the Bucks last year and slept-walked through the year after coming in out of shape. This year, he's a Vinnie Johnson type guy off the bench. He's one of their few guys that can get his own shot off at a decent percentage with the shot clock winding down. Kidd commands respect as a former player that guys like Mayo respond to.

The Chicago crowd never really seemed into the game, fairly quiet.  Just waiting around for the end so they could cheer the victory and moving on to play Cleveland.  Bucks are loose and playing hard, they have nothing to lose here.  MCW made some sick shots last night.  If I'm a Chicago fan I'm thinking "beat these guys this year, because we probably won't be able to after this year."  I also love Kidd's style as a coach.  Focuses on teaching and calming the young guys down, doesn't yell or lose his cool.

Chicago fans/radio talk giving nothing to the Bucks or Kidd. Saying inflammatory crap like "Kidd is not well liked" and "the team is garbage". Ha! In the words of Mike Singletary- "gonna be here all day baby! I like this kinda party!"

Let's send this to game 7. Please send it to game 7. Let them fire Thibideaux (who is a very good coach), let them house clean. Let them do what Chicago does- flip the f out when they hit adversity. It's dinner and a show...

agreed MC.  I think they will fire Thibs even if they win the series.  Seems like they want Fred Holberg over there.  The Front Office's chief complaint with him is that he is running the team into the ground by playing starters too much.  40+ mpg for Rose coming off surgery to remove a meniscus in the knee.. laughable.

I'd probably fire him too.

It will still be a competitive series next year assuming Rose's knee stays in one piece.

If not, yeah.. the Bucks have the edge.  In the future they have a significant edge as well.

The Bucks obviously have a much better future. The Bulls key guys are Rose, a 30 year old beat up Noah, a soon to be 35 year old Pau Gasol, and Jimmy Butler. The only guy that has a chance to get better in the next 2-3 years is Butler.

Rose has looked good this series, but his health is a ticking time bomb. He plays like Iverson. He basically is a great athlete who throws his body at people when he drives the lane. When his athleticism goes, his effectiveness will go quickly since he's not a good shooter.

Extra day off has helped the bulls no doubt....man they are slaying it.  Only watched the playoffs but the arrow is definitely looking up, lots of potential with guys getting better, the Greek needs to work on that jumper, and parker back.  Do like what I see from Kidd too, calm looks to be constantly teaching.  A full offseason with MCW can only be beneficial.

The message was clear when the Bulls had starters playing in the 4th q of a 40 point game.

Let the rivalry begin. Giannis learned a lesson. Parker better have learned too. The young players on this team better NEVER forget tonight... Let it be fuel. I am pissed not because they lost, but because it emboldens the Chicago sports fan. I hate them so much. They're a$$holes. Now they get to thump their chests.

To get hammered like this better piss off more than the fans..
