The Brewers farm system has a number of potentially good pitching prospects but most of them like Madeirios and the two Williams guys and Wagner are in A or AA ball.  The two pitchers acquired in the deal are AA guys so I like the fact they are all basically on the same 2-3 year development track.  That's not to say they couldn't get called up earlier but it's all part of the plan IMO.  Suck this year and get a high pick and then probably suck next year again to start thinking about 2016-2017.   By that time some of the younger pitchers should start producing.

I'm curious if Melvin is perfectly comfortable keeping Parra and giving him a QA.  This is a risky proposition, as Parra might not find the suitors and take the offer.  But, if the extra money flowing into MLB means a team signs him and the Brewers get another pick back (and the increase in the signing pool), then Melvin should be asking a steep price for Parra today.  Like I said, risky move.

the last trade like this was a huge win for the Crew

I like this move if nothing else it makes the Cards worse (exaggerating, Broxton won't be able to sink their ship like he did in Milwaukee). Shocked the Cards are not pushing for Lind.

Broxton goes down as a Gange level move for Melvin.

This is totally the opposite of what we have seen from Melvin.  His best sales pitch might have been getting Mark A. on board with the fire sale.

Crisis averted.  Granted, the crisis was only in your mind, but crisis averted.

Look at that scorn and hate and digust teeming throughout the clubhouse. Thank god this cancer was traded before more damage was done!
