Let's put them away in the first 5 minutes of the half and let some of the backups get some minutes.
BK heating up.....Happ needs to develop a short/midrange game, D's are getting wise to his up and under reverse move.
Starting to look like the Badger team we expect. If Vito keeps yanking 3s like this, changes a lot of things. His confidence seems to really soaring now...
6 in a row now. If the Goophers can pull off an upset and beat Michigan tonight the Badgers would be in 5th place in the BigTen. Not too bad after the start they had.
They are still susceptible to quick guards getting penetration, but this team is playing better with Guard than they did with Bo.
How many times did a guy get the ball in the post and wait for contact? A bunch of times an aggressive move would have gotten them to the hole easily and quickly and guys waited for a defender. Hope that one gets address in film.
Get the wins vs. Illinois, Minnesota, and Michigan and steal one of the other 4 (Maryland, Purdue, MSU, and Iowa) and they are probably into the NCAA tournament.
It all comes down to making shots. They aren't a great defensive team, but they're plenty good enough.
If they're making shots, avoiding the patented drought, they're tough to beat. And guys are finding themselves and their roles. Iverson gives them an athletic F, Illikainen an inside/outside game, and Hill has totally stabilized the G position. That might be the biggest development right there- Hill has been really good in a few games but above average the rest of the time and that's all Koenig needed to get back on track again. And if Vito keeps his current level of play up, they force teams to pick their poison (like the last couple years).
Need to seal the deal and finish strong. This team in the Tournament after where they were would be a remarkable feat.
It should assure Gard the full time head coach position.
