Here is the lineup the Brewers will send against left-hander Jeff Locke:

CF Carlos Gomez
RF Ryan Braun
C Jonathan Lucroy
3B Aramis Ramirez
LF Khris Davis
2B Rickie Weeks
1B Mark Reynolds
SS Jean Segura
RHP Yovani Gallardo

For his dumb-a$$ play last night Reynolds gets rewarded with the start.  Thought we'd see Maldy catching with Lucroy at first against the lefty.   Here's hoping Gomez K's in more than 3 pitches to lead off the game.

Fire Roenicke tomorrow.  Why wait another 10 days?

The guys on MLB TV pointed out how well Gallardo was pitching and kept getting Martin to whiff on outside pitches.  Well, as they pointed outed, Broxton comes in and throws another pitch off the center of the plate and POW!  Martin adjusted thinking he was going to get more outside stuff and so the Brewers are down 3-2.

And another thing, did you see the fire and emotion Martin and the dugout had?  Our guys just kinda seem stoic and reserved.  No sense of urgency.  Either from the GM, Mgr or players.

Cash in your chips!  Close the shutters.  Turn off the motor.  And unplug the drain.  This season is done, over, kaput and finished.

I was at best "lukewarm" on Doug Melvin.  Earlier this season I thought I was wrong because this Brewers team seemed to be so good.  But, I was incorrect then and right before.  This team needs a new GM and a new Mgr.  Losing is bad enough, collapsing the way they have is beyond incredible.   It is historical.

Another great outing from our starting pitcher. Wasted.

Another poor outing by the pen. Did Broxton miss his spot , or was there any coaching on what had been keeping the Pirates off balance all night - with off speed edge stuff. Aggghh

0-16 tonight from Gomez, aram, Davis, reynolds, and segura. This offense has dried up.

Disturbing to see all of the boneheaded mistakes. Routine plays being botched end up costing big. Players that have been good all year coming up small.

I don't believe for a second that Melvin will be fired. Attanasio is not going to do it, and he shouldn't.

And Roenicke should only be fired if a great manager is available. Unless you can name that guy, stop talking about it.

The Brewers were a flawed team playing over their heads in the first 3 months, and a team that cracked under the pressure in the final three months. Just like Pittsburgh was well below .500 for so long, and are putting it together when it counts.

This seasons epitaph will read "here lies 2014, what could have been but never was and we were all fooled."

So after the Packers sh!t the bed I turn to watch the Brewers.  Top of the 9th,  Gomez on 1st, nobody out.  Weeks hits a chopper over the pitcher's head.  Pitcher snags it over his shoulder running towards second and throws low to first.  Should be 1st and 2nd nobody out, trailing 1-0 in the top of the 9th.  BUT our great baserunning takes effect again as Gomez turns off 2nd too far and gets thrown out in a rundown.  Season over.

I'm pretty tired of Gomez's act.  Great defense, offense sucks the past 2 months and too many dumb-a$$ baserunning mistakes.
