regardless of his bat, Luc one of the best defensive backstops in the game not named Molina.  His pitch framing alone sets him apart from the field.

Maldy is a fine defensive catcher, everything you would want in a back up.  Especially that strong arm.  Weak bat, but a strong backstop.

Better catcher that Luc?  Well that is just stupid talk.  Really ****ing stupid talk.

No disrespect, but this is one  of those times I'm gonna tell you to go f?ck yourself.
Still wouldn't trade Gomez for Goldschmidt ?... I'm still waiting for Goldy to make a mental mistake saber-boy. Haha.

nothing like taking a stupid take to another level trump, no one can pull it off like you do.

Maldy is better than Luc is your dumbass take, to defend it, of course, Gomez and Goldschmidt.  Perfect sense.

can't get out of your own damn way

Stats for rebuttal:

Jon Jay career slash line - .292/.357/.393/.750

Jose Reyes career slash line - .291/.341/.434/.775

Pretty similar really when you look at it.  However, given the positions they play, I think you have to give the nod to Reyes.

Now I said d Maldy is better than Luv?
No, no, no ... Sir you said that

Maldy better defensively and in a mold from Molina ... IMo, without question.
Luck better hitter and would demand more salary and would get a haul in trade, IMO, without a doubt.

Let's bet on LuCroys next All-star appearance? Name it.

That whole post reeked of booze.  No, I'm pretty sure I've been consistent that Luc is a better catcher than Maldy.  Your quoted post, on the other hand, stated Maldy was the better catcher.  It was the original statement I found pretty outrageous.

The additional point that seems to have burned a hole in your soul for the last year seems to be around this exchange.,,

"Would you trade Gomez and Nelson or Peralta for Goldschmidt?

"Can't say no fast enough."

At that time, Peralta was 12/6 and an important part of the rotation.  Nelson was also in the rotation, not pitching as well but promising,  Gomez had a slash line of .375/.525/.900 playing excellent defense in center field.  The team was 60/49, leading the division by 2 games.

Goldschmidt had just gone down for the season with a broken hand.

So no, I did not see how trading for a seriously injured player using perhaps our best player at the time and part of the starting rotation would help the Brewers keep their hold on the division lead.  I'm sorry that statement ate at you for so long.

Not sure that was the complete  trade talk scenario at the time but I did digress ...
Bottom line, LuCroy should be moved when he gets healthy, Naldy is the better backstop on defense and LuCroy would bring excellent trade value compared to his worth on the team IMO.
The bet offer stands.

July 30, 2014 is when you suggested it.  The search feature can dig it all up.

I would need to be blown away for Luc.  Cheap, additional years, strong defense, good stick.  The value should be overwhelming.  He makes any pitching staff better.

Since I think a rebuild is the right move, I can live with Maldy as the backstop if the above happens.  Similarly with Gomez, I'd take the right offer now that playoffs aren't realistic.

I have no desire to bet, but if we must, if Luc retires having never seen another all star game, you can determine my new username and avatar.
