Game 7 Warriors-Thunder

Thompson finally hits one after Westbrook tries a crazy shot and hits Iguodala on the head with two hands on the follow through. 

And then Thompson goes crazy and hits 3 threes in a row and cuts the lead to 4. 

And then Westbrook gets a conventional 3 point play to put the Thunder back up 9. 

Thunder weathered the storm and are dominating again. Too many 3s from guys like Iguodala and Green (0-6). 

I find it hard to know how to cheer for OKC. Durant is one my favorite players to watch. Westbrook is one of my least favorite. He's basically Iverson in new age form. He always plays hard, but he's out of control and a difficult guy to officiate since he just hurls himself into defenders . 

Enjoying this game at the cost of a good night's sleep.

Same thing here Blair. 

Warriors with some terrible offensive  possessions here - bad shots and missed layups and now OKC within 6. 

And Draymond Green with 5 fouls. OKC is back in this. Speights missed layup was huge - a 5 point swing.

Just looks as if the Warriors said, "Enough".

Hard to play offense with guys missing point blank layups. 

Just have Curry shoot step back 3s. 

What more could Draymond Green do there? That's a charge every time. 

GS blew a defense to give Durant an open 3 before that. 

Down to 6 with 2 minutes left. And OKC has the ball. 

Down to 4. A 7-0 run. A Warriors loss here would be an all-time choke. Up 11 with less than 3 minutes left. Let's see what they are made of. 

Dagger. 

Curry gets fouled on a 3. Hate to have to call that, but it was obvious.

Then Durant misses two threes and Curry hits one to really end it. 

They were down 3-1. Amazing series.

Kevin Durant seems like a class guy shaking hands and congratulating people. I didn't see Westbrook out there

GS made 5 free throws and scored 96 points. They shoot the ball like nothing I've ever seen. 

Wonder if Durant returns to OKC next year. Seemed like a lot of guys pissed off at a lot of guys for OKC tonight. 

Come to Milwaukee... Put Durant on the Bucks and they win it all in 2 years.

Westbrook is a great individual player. Like AI. But it's all about him s shot, him with the ball. 

The GSW defense was the reason they came back & won this series.

They'll need more of the same to beat the Cavs & I think they will.

The Cavs haven't had to play an opponent this bad Ass at all in the playoffs. 

Can't wait to see the Finals. The series everyone wanted to see.

That was a pretty solid game 7.  OKC had them on the ropes early but man, the Thunder got sloppy and blew a number of possessions and then GS started raining down 3s and you knew it was their night. 

For all the Billy Donovan hype I really question why he played Waiters and Roberson as much as they did.  Then Kanter only gets like 10 minutes?  Maybe he was hurt but GS did not have an answer for that guy.

No player had ever made more than 28 3's in a playoff series. Against OKC Curry made 32 and  Klay made 30. 

Thompson just caught fire.  When he and Curry are hitting bombs they are pretty much impossible to beat.   It was crazy how he went from 0-7 and then drilled the rest of his shots at nearly a 75% clip. 

OKC should consider trading Westbrook to the Lakers or the Clippers. He's from Long Beach and played at UCLA. Get the Lakers #2 overall pick and some combination of D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, and another pick.  Westbrook on the Lakers would probably average 35 points and 10 assists next year and he could shoot all the time. He'd essentially be a much better version of the 2016 Kobe Bryant.

A Westbrook-Chris Paul swap would be interesting. Paul is 3 years older, but probably a much better fit to play with Durant.

Of course, if Durant leaves then OKC is cooked no matter what else they do. There are rumblings that Durant may end up in San Antonio or Golden State. Golden State might win 80 games next year if they had Durant with Curry and Thompson. How could you stop that level of shooting?

I would bet that Durant either goes home to DC or stays in OKC.

Ridiculous!

Curry and Klay AVERAGED 42% from the 3 point taking around 11 three's each per game during the series. The team averaged 40% for the series. 

If anyone has a slide rule, if Curry and Klay are taking that number of 3's and converting them each game, doesn't the other team have to shoot something like 70% or better on all two's to hang with GS? 

It used to be you let a guy go off like that and they'll come back to earth. Except that's how they play. They broke basketball...

I hope they don't try to "fix" this. These games are a lot more entertaining and more like "real" basketball for me than the late 1980s and 1990s era Knicks-Heat, Pistons-anybody, etc. I'd rather see guys hit contested 3 point shots than just pushing and shoving in the lane.

The 3 point shot has changed the game of basketball forever.  It started in college and has found a way to the pros. 

Teams now can play "small ball" with very successful results as shown by Golden State and you don't need to have the prototypical bigs to win at the highest level.  

It's also made the game a lot more entertaining.   The NBA playoffs used to be Dick Bennett like - slow down the pace, run your half court sets, and grind teams down defensively.  Not anymore.

I agree. And this is where I look at the Bucks and hope they can get the needed improvement from Middleton, Giannis, and Parker. If These guys can shoot? Look out- suddenly the court shrinks and a team like GS (who certainly had their share of trouble against the Bucks this year) will force the evolution of basketball to beat them. 

Like how the WCO was the answer to the 3/4, then the Tampa 2 was the answer to the WCO. 

Mir should be fun to watch, because it's much better to watch than 90s WWF ball...
