I was finally able to stomach reading the Gunslinger article.  I think it puts many things that have happened since then into clearer focus.  There was a division in the locker room between Favre's guys and Rodgers' guys (I think we knew that but I didn't realize how deep that rift was).  I believe that rift became amplified when MM came in, who was clearly not a Favre guy like Sherman had been.  Then, when the retirement showdown occurred, MM and TT side with Rodgers.  Not only did Favre continue to carry that deep resentment with him as he changed teams, but Favre's guys who were still with the Packers carried it too.  Now, the mindset of players like Jennings and Driver makes a lot more sense (as well as some fawning fans of Favre who continue to have trouble accepting TT, MM, and Rodgers), while the younger players supported Rodgers and were able to move forward.  Favre's anger and childish behavior all stemmed from that moment when TT dared to draft Rodgers.  This is why countries going though a regime change execute members of the previous regime.   Because otherwise they go to the Vikings.

Thank you for this.......says it all, perfectly.

I'm no fan of CKA, but he did get Favre under control to the point where he threw 7 interceptions in a season (his lowest before was 13) and he almost matched that in the infamous playoff game.  He probably deserved a lot of credit for that since Favre averaged 21 ints/year during the previous 4 years.

Would that be the same CKA that was fired the following year when Favre went off the rails and stopped trying? I mean really, it was Favre's pick 6 to Desmond Bishop that was the nail in CKA's coffin when he openly ripped the Silver Fox after that game.

Brett didn't throw 7 INT's in 2009 because of anything CKA did. Brett threw 7 INT's in 2009 because it was important that Brett made Brett look like he was still a great QB.

I don't think Brett gave one **** about the NFL after Tracy Porter picked off his ****ty pass in the title game. His play in 2010 showed it right up to the time he straight up quit trying entirely.

Nope! No it wasn't. Pretty sure you have your CKA's mixed up. This CKA has a kick ass offense. Who would fire a guy with a kick ass offense?

No good place to drop this. But it's a fun quick read.

I've always thought that to be a great TE in the NFL you have to be equal parts football savant, tough, and bat**** crazy. The arguments for would be Gronk, Todd Christensen, Chris Cooley, Kelen Winslow, Dave Casper, Shannon Sharpe, Mike Ditka and Chmura.

Argument against would be Ozzie Newsome and Jason Whitten. Maybe Antonio Gates.

Chmura is one off kiltered MF'er.

American Chewy should thank his lucky stars he came up before smartphones. You know damn well that guy has skeletons and spent a lot of time "team building" (i.e. fraternizing and carousing) with Brent back in the day.

There are so many damn stories of them hitting College Ave in Appleton and if half the stories are true that's another book in of itself.

"First shave clean your pubic area , balls and the hair between your butt , yes between your butt this area holds a lot of sweat and bad odor.
Take a bath scrub your pubic area and balls with a loofah exfoliating cloth and a mild scented soap (unscented glycerin soap)
or bath wash avoid sweet scented soaps this can lead to a bad odor within the hour after bathing . Scrub until dead skin on your balls is gone they contribute to your odor.
After bathing dry well with towel but from my experience it doesn’t fully dry our balls so I recommend blow off with a fan or waiting for a few minutes for the air to dry it before putting on clothes.
Next add a balls product to keep your scrotum dry most of them are made of talc powder .
Please put on a clean underwear preferably made micro modal material, cotton and also bacteria resistant read more about them below.
Bath twice a least twice a day and repeat step 2 to 4 .
Step 1 should be soon as you see new hair growth."

Well, for all his brains and the high Wonderlic score, Rodgers surely can't figure out the mess he's gotten himself into the passed few weeks into this ugly season.

And as for TOG, I heard years and years ago while he was still with the Packers that he was a jerk.  And low 'n behold, he was and is.

I also had heard things that he was an absolute butt hole but I refused to believe it.  Surely one of the saviors of my favorite football team could not be that way.

One thing I find interesting in this whole saga is it seems players (Jennings for example) have come out somewhat ant-AR in this but none seem to say anything negative about Favre and I'm not sure I have ever heard a player (ex or current) ever say anything negative publicly about him. Feel free to remind me or let know if one, but I can't recall any.

I'm sure the Jets thoroughly enjoyed being used for a season while Brett **** the bed down the stretch to keep the miles low for his future in Minnesota. Culminating with three INTs in week 17 to officially kill the Jets postseason hopes. I'm sure they had nothing but love for the opportunity of playing with the legend.

What I find interesting is most players are able to keep thoughts buttoned up unlike Greg Jennings who can't managed to keep his hole shut. And that Greg is too ****ing stupid to understand guys like Jim Rome, CBS, NFL Network know if they give him 5 minutes and a live mic he's going to give them material.

This just in.....all our "heroes" are not heroes.  They are just guys.

That is why I have Packer shirts, hats, glasses and jackets.  No way would I buy a player number jersey.  As far as I am concerned if you have a Bart Starr jersey you are good for life.....any others and you are set up for disappointment.

The other players loved Favre because he fit more into the football culture, partying, chasing women, putting icy hot in jocks, etc. He fit more in with what a typical player is...... an immature person who has always gotten what they wanted, but was not judgmental towards teammates (other than AR since he saw him as competition).  It sounds like AR's arrogance could be directed at teammates (a lack of tolerance for their cognitive shortcomings).

I'm still holding on to my Gravedigger #93 jersey!

I'm 99.9% sure no level headed adult ever viewed an NFL player as a hero. They're football players.

There are exceptions. Plenty of NFL players served our country.

Chewy and Favre use to party at the bars around Pewaukee lake.  They were what you would expect young guys with money to be.

I don't see why this was a problem.   Well, until the hot tub scandal.

Part of me hopes 12 was paranoid about this book being published (who wants private conversations from a decade ago aired?), it affected his play, and now that it's out he can go back to being the ass-kicking, historically accurate QB we're used to.

The whole damned thing sounds like a media ploy to me; they desire to create a controversy where none exists.
It reminds me of rasslin' interviews, where a "reporter" asks for a reaction to his enemy's comments, then goes back to said enemy and "did you hear what this guy said about you?"....
