3.5 seconds on the clock, down by three.  Obviously, if Vitto hits the free throw the game is essentially over (hard to hope for a made half court 3 pointer with a foul).

So, the only shot you have to win is a missed free throw.  I get why Wright calls a time out to ice Vitto, but that essentially hoses the team on the missed free throw because you have to secure the rebound and set up the play.  I was very happy to see them call the time out, because it made the miracle that much harder.  If you have a time out in your pocket, you can call a TO and set up an inbounds play that maybe gets you a decent half court look to tie up the game (Think Ben Brust).  Of course, if you don't ice him, maybe Vitto makes the three and none of it matters.

I wouldn't call a time out to ice a free throw shooting in that situation.

Listening to the talking heads at halftime Michigan game....all "so hard to repeat for any #1 team", especially if they're national champs.  Ugh. Barf. Hurl.  Not one mention of how great the Badgers were all poor vanilla.  Oh, right they mentioned how composed the Badgers were at the halftime meeting......NOTHING about how awesome they played the final two minutes...... geez I hate that.  Sorry, just had to vent.
