Good grief, it's almost Wednesday and no topic on this. The Vikings hangover is real.

worked out C.J. Spiller and LB Brandon Chubb today.

Spiller was released by the New Orleans Saints last week a little more than one year after he signed a four-year, $16 million contract. Spiller, 29, rushed for only 112 yards on 36 carries in 13 games last season as New Orleans’ change-of-pace back but was limited by a knee injury.

The ninth-overall pick in the 2010 draft has not been a full-time starter since 2013 with the Buffalo Bills. That season, he rushed for 933 yards in 15 games. His best year came in 2012 with 1,244 yards and six touchdowns.

The Packers have an open roster spot after they released running back Jhurell Pressley last week. Pressley, who was claimed off waivers from the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 4, was inactive for the regular-season opener before being cut.

Through 2 weeks, this is ugly:

#Packers Aaron Rodgers is next to dead last in yards per pass at 31st. Only #Bears Jay Cutler is worse.

#Packers are 31st in NFL passing at 189 yards per game

#Packers are 19th in the NFL in rushing at 89 yards per game

McCarthy on Rodgers passer rating: We decided this year stats weren’t going to be important. Our goal is to be more well-rounded.

I'm really stating to think I want to kick McCarthy in the nuts.

Right after he trotted out his annual "we want to run the ball more" early this week would have been a good time. Every fu***** year he claims this then proceeds do, well, not run the ball.

Lacy was averaging 4.2 a carry on Sunday. But, you know, why would we run it..

BTW, pretty comical GB brings in Spiller in an attempt to spark the offense but meanwhile Monty got 0 snaps on offense last week, Trevor Davis (who has speed to separate from DB's) got like 5, we abandoned the run, and Abby? Remember him? He's on the roster, right.?.

For the record, I do not endorse nor wish violence upon Coach McCarthy.

In my neighborhood  growing -up , a kick in the nuts was just a friendly wake-up call.

Certainly there was interest in Spiller's skills and how he might help. But he isn't supplanting Lacy or Starks if they signed him. Also, if they want to spark the offense, go back to 5-wide, inverted bone... get rid of the 90% going 11's.

Some silver linings:

—The injury to Guion forced Kenny Clark to go from 9 snaps in the opener to 38 on Sunday night, and while the No. 1 pick from UCLA got pushed around a few times, the coaches had to be satisfied with his overall performance. The 20-year-old generally held his ground at the point of attack and used his hands and his quickness to get off blocks and make plays. After a fairly quiet summer, this performance is very encouraging.

—Remember how worried we were when the Packers released All-Pro Josh Sitton and decided to go with Lane Taylor at left guard? Talk about unnecessary stress. While the former undrafted free agent from Oklahoma State wasn’t quite as good as he was in the opener, he was more than adequate. What impressed me most Sunday night was his ability to pass protect on a fast track and in an incredibly loud building.

Isn't it interesting all the panic and anger associated at Josh Sitton and up to this point who thought we'd be a lot more concerned about our QB than Taylor?

Maybe it's a domino effect. Aaron doesn't "trust" Taylor, he gets happy feet, panics, loses confidence, pisses his pants, and throws off his back foot. The house of cards is falling apart, and it started with TT and Josh and the last card standing will be Janis, checkmate.

#Packers defense has gone from 31st in the NFL at this time last season to 1st in rushing defense allowing just 78 yards through 2 weeks. This is the same unit that a year ago got off to a disastrous start and after two weeks ranked 31st -- ahead of only the lowly Cleveland Browns.

This year, after holding the Jacksonville Jaguars to just 48 yards rushing in the opener and the Minnesota Vikings to merely 30 yards -- their lowest rushing total since Week 12 of the 2010 season -- the Packers rank first in the league in rushing yards allowed per game at just 39. That's 11.5 yards less per game than the second-best Pittsburgh Steelers.

Aaron cannot expect the O Line to block for two days while he dances around looking for a receiver. Hike the ball, step back, count to three and get rid of the ball or run with it. He had all the time in the world and couldn't find  an open receiver? Maybe all that dancing in the backfield hurts your WRs, too. I'm guessing their routes cannot be sustained for a long period of time. Maybe I'm wrong? Anybody?

See the 'Aaron's fault' thread. There is plenty of detailed examples of what's going on with AR and what he's not seeing. Separation of WR's is still an issue but it's not the issue. The offense is just dysfunctional with many reasons as to why.

If you find mysterious airline tickets in your mailbox, payment likely was from in an account originating in Green Bay or Central California.

I'd have been more impressed had Shariff Floyd not missed the game. Linval Joseph is a space eater and Tom Johnson is a sub-package guy who wears down if playing too many snaps.

McCarthy on Clay Matthews: "Went through treatment this morning. Did extensive work in the strength and conditioning." Injury report later.

McCarthy said the medical information will influence how they fill the 53rd roster spot. And workouts today will influence medical report.

McCarthy on Calvin Johnson-less Lions: "Now you're seeing more 1-on-1 matchups, and I think they're doing a great job of exploiting that

McCarthy on Aaron Rodgers: "It's a process, and he's no different than any other player. Fundamentals are something you're always chasing."

McCarthy said there are two things the medical staff is looking at with Clay Matthews. Ankle and something else.

McCarthy on Nick Perry: "I think Nick Perry is playing the best football of his career, and you have to point to the health."

McCarthy on Kenny Clark: "Definitely made a big jump from Week 1 to Week 2, and he has to take another step this week."

I must be in the minority in that I am not feeling the hangover anymore it is just time to move on to the Lions.  I think a home game is just what this team needs right now and I hope that they wont have a hangover and come out just flat out pi$$ed off.

As for AR I think what we really need to be worrying about is the horrible running game right now.  I see from a previous post they are getting 89 yards a game.  I am way to lazy to look it up but I bet AR has a good percentage of those yards. It is only my opinion but I think to win a game you have to be balanced on offense.  If the D has nothing to worry about from your running game their job is that much easier.

I would bet good money in that if they gain more balance on offense with a running game things will loosen up in a BIG hurry.

I'm with you. No more hangover. Time to move on to the Lions.

To get balance on offense you need to actually RUN the ball more, as in attempts. Lacy was averaging almost 5 yards per. RTFB!!!

How about picking off Pad Statford about 3 times too.
