Josh Sitton solidified his standing as a premier guard by shutting down Aaron Donald, probably the hottest 3-technique in the league. Everyone has the size advantage over Donald. Most guards, however, can't cope with his sudden take-off, quick hands, underrated strength and all-out style. Sitton is different because he's smart, patient and agile, besides being massive. At least half of Donald's 50 snaps were against Sitton.

Interior lineman never get their due, but this guy was probably the 4th best player on a Super Bowl winning team in 2010 (Rodgers, Woodson, Matthews), and has only gotten better. If he played at the same level at a glamour position, he'd likely be a future Hall of Famer.
The 1996 team had two hall of famers (White and Favre) and one should be HOFer(Butler).
The 2010 team will have Rodgers and Woodson as sure bets. Matthews will have a chance and I would hope Sitton would too.

I think we've seen a bit of a change in the league also. It used to be getting by at guard was fine when you had good tackles, but teams like Baltimore and Cincy started a trend of more A-gap blitzes and the Giants pushed the trend of moving an undersized pass rusher over slower guards on obvious passing situations, especially since teams pass more these days. Exposing matchups with slower guards is a big thing.
Look at the team's expected to be good who have really struggled. Philadelphia has talent at tackle, as does Indy on the left side. Their guards are terrible though. People were writing off New England last year when they were getting smoked up the middle. Then they reshuffled their interior to strengthen it and they went on their run. That quick pressure up the middle is a killer and even guys like Brady and Luck really struggle with it.
Question: Is there a better interior 3 in the league than Sitton, Linsley, Lang?

Josh Sitton named second team All-Pro
For the third time in his career, Green Bay Packers left guard Josh Sitton was selected as a second team All-Pro by a panel of Associated Press voters.
Sitton was the only Packers player named on the first- or second-team All-Pro lists released Friday. He started all 16 games for the Packers this season, the fourth straight season he hasn't missed a start.
Baltimore Ravens guard Marshal Yanda and Pittsburgh Steelers guard David DeCastro were voted to the first team. Sitton was joined on the second team by Arizona Cardinals guard Mike Iupati and Dallas Cowboys guard Zach Martin.
It's the second straight season Sitton has been voted as a second team All-Pro. The 2008 fourth-round pick was also a second team All-Pro in 2012. Sitton was also voted to the Pro Bowl for the third time this season, joining quarterback Aaron Rodgers, inside linebacker Clay Matthews and first-alternate fullback John Kuhn.
Sitton is certainly paid like one of the leagueâs best players at his position. His average annual salary of $6.75 million is the fifth highest among NFL guards, according to Over The Cap. Sitton has rewarded the Packers' financial commitment with consistently superb play.
In 15 games as a left guard this season, Sitton allowed three sacks. His 12 total pressures were the second-fewest among NFL guards, according to Pro Football Focus.
Sitton's consistency has been especially important this season. The Packers have had their preferred five offensive line starters only seven times in 16 games. Sitton is the only Packers offensive lineman to start each game this season. His final start of the year came at left tackle, where he replaced injured starter David Bakhtiari.
Coach Mike McCarthy said Sitton will play left guard this week when the Packers travel to Washington for their NFC wild-card playoff game
