I don't know if it's age, the NFL, everything, or whatever but I'm enjoying the NFL/Lambeau experience, and don't get me wrong Lambeau is freaking awesome, less and less.  The local HS football team beat a longstanding rival 47-0 to start the season and I'm feeling more drawn to that than rog's nfl "product".

Probably the same reason I enjoying seeing live music at clubs, bars, and small festivals over theaters and stadiums.  Probably the same reason an amateur baseball game, where I can tell if a pitch is a curve or fastball based on how it sounds, is more enjoyable than Miller Park.

It's nice to have room to move.  can the season freaking start?

Old fart.

Exactly how I feel.  It's just getting absurd.  But then I'm pretty damn sure all these changes aren't geared towards us but rather to shape whipper snappers concept of pro football to keep those dollars rollin' in.

I just want to see Rodgers put at least one more title under his belt then we'll see what shakes out with this version of the NFL.

The Cowboys visited the Seahawks on Thursday in Washington, one of the two states were marijuana legally can be purchased. Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was photographed in a store that sells marijuana. There’s no evidence he bought any or that he smoked any. Regardless, his boss doesn’t approve of Zeke’s weed window shopping.

“Well, I think that, in and of itself, the reason we are talking about is in a way part of the learning process,” Jones said after Thursday’s game, via Clarence E. Hill, Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “But it’s not good. It’s just not good. It’s just not good.”

<spurt, sputter>  conduct detrimental to the league!!  interview with badell or suspension!!!

It's Legal. It's not performance enhancing. If anything it's performance DEcreasing.

Can't wait to see how the NFL handles this

If the owners (and Goodell by extension) were motivated only by what was best for the game, they'd go the NFLPA and just say "Look, we are not going to even bother to test for marijuana any more. It's legal in some states and doesn't cause any competitive advantage. In fact, it might be good to relieve pain in a way that won't require taking doses of painkillers that should only be given to livestock."

Instead, it will be a bargaining chip for the owners to extract another concession from the players that will allow the owners to make more money.

I don't think the NFL has an issue with smoking dope, but the advertisers do

They aren't writing checks for eleventy billion to promote a bunch of "thugs". They saw what happened with the NBA and want to continue the mirage of squeaky- clean athlete/roll models/endorsers. Of course these guys aren't thugs, but the optics aren't good for Madison Avenue... yet.

Follow the money, and the money says smoking dope is bad. Which is ironical on so many levels given the NFL's willingness to heavily promote alcohol, pharmaceuticals (and formerly cigarettes) in addition to giving wife beaters gainful employment.

Look at how the media treated Ricky Williams years ago and Marshawn Lynch more recently. The dope smokers were scorned and made fun of by the mainstream media.

All the more reason to legalize it across the board.

I would laugh my ass off if the last thing Obama did in office was to slap down an executive order legalizing weed, blaze up a fattie, blow a smoke ring and fly off in Marine One.

Then maybe TT will start doing press conferences in drag.
