On Burnetts injury. The following is from Medscape.

"In the acute phase following a muscle contusion, hematoma maturation, inflammation, necrosis of damaged myofibrils, and phagocytosis of the necrotic debris are main features. The goal of therapy is to minimize hemorrhage and inflammation and control pain. Limb immobilization with rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE) should be performed for the first 24 hours in patients with minor contusions and for 48 hours in patients with moderate or severe contusions.

The general recommendation is to avoid heat during the first 24-48 hours to avoid increasing the extent of hemorrhage and edema. Once the lesion has stabilized, heat may help break up the mass of blood and tissue; however, in the literature, this has been shown to be of limited benefit.

The use of crutches should be emphasized for patients with thigh contusions, as weight bearing following the thigh contusion injury may be extremely painful and may extend the damage. The knee joint should be flexed to pain tolerance in conjunction with the compression dressing. Compression gently increases tension, limiting the extent of the intramuscular hematoma. In addition, the position of flexion stretches the muscle, which increases tension and also facilitates drainage of the edematous fluid from the region.

The contusion generally stabilizes by 24-48 hours, and subsequent evaluation should dictate further treatment and prognosis. Reinjury is a significant factor in prolonging disability, and patients must be instructed to avoid retraumatizing the muscle."

Morgan has been key esp. close to LOS. But it may be possible for him to return if he can play through the pain. But my guess is that the risk for further injury might be too great. Cobb has the dreaded high ankle sprain which can linger.

Walking/limping wounded...

Huh?

Sorry, I'll listen to DocBenni first.

I'd put money on the fact that I understand that copy/paste better than you.

Usually when you search any given whatnot injury online, especially for yourself, you'll be just short of death and have 3 cancers.

A deep contusion to muscle tissue is a whole different world for the professional athlete than... well 99% of the rest of the world.

But thanks for posting.

Ok, that's much better news. I agree that some of the medical sites could make even a healthy person feel sick. But what I referenced was what was reported by GBP. It did sound pretty bad from the site referenced. I hope its not. I still wonder if the GB medical staff would let him play knowing that doing so would make the injury worse.

I thought that a lot of the snaps in the shotgun did not make it back to AR like normal. He had to kind of lean way forward to get them. It looked strange to me. You don't want them to hit him in the chest but it seemed like he was not anywhere close to how they were normally.

Linsley did seem to be floating them back there in the second half. Collins and Irving have been playing really well for the Cowboys and the inside trio held them in check pretty well, IMO.

In the Dallas game at Lambeau during the season. Irving played 19 snaps. He had 4 tackles, a tackle for a loss, a sack, 4 pressures, and three forced fumbles. He was a one man wrecking crew.

On Sunday he played 45 snaps. Had one tackle. Zero QB pressures. OL did a great job on him.

But no, that's not what you meant. You meant fag like Trey and Matt wrote as humor. Right...

You expect anyone to believe that?

Did you see that episode?  The kids lines weren't creating anything new. But I'm not repeating myself on this.

I got the message: The word police win. Move on?

I know a thing or 2 about empathy for the oppressed.  It just doesn't extend to personal attacks, which I didn't start in any way, certainly not intentionally. Someone wants to start a personal war I'm going to respond in kind.

Wow, you guys make me feel so important.

Everything from the medscape post is accurate.  The only x-factor is that MB will get "round the clock" treatment for this.  Most average people would ice the leg for a bit, sorta stay off it, and then hobble around for a few weeks.  Others would show up in my dept, not having iced or stayed off of it, and then give me a bad review when I won't give them 100 Norco and a work note for 7 days.

I think MB will play.  I think JN will not.

Burnett seems more important to this match-up than Nelson.  The Packers will get their points but they need to stop any hemorrhaging from the defense.

My worry is that Burnett's hemorrhaging will contribute to the same on defense. Brice better be ready.

It's not hard. Unless you can't say sorry and you meant it. In that case own it. Just own it. But don't go double down on someone's childhood. That's a sandbox kid bitch out.

Yikes, the Oline looked bad on that play.

Not the way I see it. Look at Taylor specifically. He blocked through like it was a run, none of them were setting up like it was a throw. That's why I called it text book. The fake was not just great from Rodgers. I think the OL played very well through the fake there.

Oh, I think they all played the run fake very well. Both guards were excellent in fact. I just thought Linsley and Bulaga getting blowed up could have caused trouble for Lang and/or AR.

But it didn't. Terrific play by AR. Fun to watch.

Sooo negative!

If you were in middle school you would've said fag like the rest of us because you're in middle school.

Maybe you can be the new Willie Davis.  He was known as Dr. Feelgood by the '60s Packers.  He was called that because he made the women feel so good.

Pretty sure Julie Andrews left that verse out.

We are a bad cold weather team. TT should go into retirement at the least.

Well we are this year because there is no power running game.

Eddie injured. TT pick. Still beat Seattle, Minny, Chicago outside in ****ty weather when a loss ends the season. With a running game.

And I still want capers and TT to retire after this season.

Still breathing on Ted's picks and Cook signing. And Hyde (Ted pick) coached up to jump a WR screen in Dallas like I've never seen in years

I'd hate missing out on younger talent like Dorsey and wolf or vrabel just because TT and Capers hung out for 2 more years.

Dorsey when it's time to come home. That's my personal hope.

It's sort of a Favre out Rodgers in scenario.  TT taught me to think this way.

Harlan telling Wolf to fix everything is slightly ahead of TT telling Brett to **** off in the best decisions in GB the last 37 years. Because Wolf wanted Ted. And Aaron isn't done.

Somehow the Rhodes-Sherman debacle is lost in all of this.
