I'm not worried at all about about Bak or Daniels and their toughness.  Those guys give or take a pounding every play and if their lower body isn't right it saps their strength and explosion.

It's a long season and I'd rather they be overly cautious and miss 1 game than risk a longer term injury.

Vic Beasley is out for at least a month with a hammy.

After two home games, the Cincinnati Bengals are 27th in the NFL in offensive yards per game (pending the Giants-Lions game tonight).

If the Giants score a touchdown and convert the extra point, that is score 7 points this evening, the Bengals will come into Lambeau as the lowest scoring NFL team through the first two weeks of the season (4.5 points per game).

The Bengals offensive coordinator got fired three days ago.

Cincy's offensive line is a mess after long-time starting G Kevin Zeitler and LT Andrew Whitworth departed in free agency.

There is chatter that starting QB Andy Dalton might bet replaced by backup AJ McCarron.

Former Bengal WR TJ Houshmanzadheh is publicly calling out Dalton as the source of the offensive woes, while some current Bengal players are lobbying for the team to sign Kaepernick.

If the Pack can't shut down this sinking ship of an offense, then Green Bay has a problem.

For a couple seconds there it looked like MM and one of the refs might go nose to nose like Lou Pinella and Joe West. It's been a while since I've seen an NFL coach and ref have to be separated by another ref.

I considered it a positive from the game.  I was happy to see him do it.  At the time, I would have cheered if he would have slugged the ref in the face.

It's like this: When you're falling flat on your face, the last thing you need is for the refs to come along and **** you up the ass for good measure.

And no, it is not the reason we lost. [EDIT to clarify: I mean I'm not saying with this post that it is the reason we lost. I know no one else is either.]

Although it was a truly horrific call. It really had no bearing on the game or the outcome. Bad calls happen.

It's just been a long time since I've seen a ref and a coach actually jaw at each other to the point someone had to intervene. Looked like MM may have crossed a line and one of the refs took a step toward him and fired back. That was fun to watch.

On to week 3!!!

If the Pack was healthy, I'll be honest, I'd say the Bengals would have zero chance.  If Daniels, Bulaga, Bahktiari, Nelson, and Cobb are out, that would even the playing field significantly.  I'd still expect a Packers' win, but it won't be pretty.

We go from playing Julio Jones to A.J. Green.  While Green is not the physical marvel Jones is, he can be a difficult matchup because even if you've got great coverage on him, he still can go up and grab that ball out of the air even if he's got guys all over him.

Andy Dalton has looked awful so far this year, let's hope he continues to look that way.  Keep the pressure on him and I think you can keep him in his slump.

Early guess is Jordy is back and so is Bulaga and Brooks.

I wonder if the Daniels injury that surfaced last week (hip) is related to last night.

Cobb and Bak might need a little more time.

Hope is that GB makes quick work of Cincy and gets the starters a little rest by the 4th. Short week ahead of Bears Thursday nighter.

I was actually glad to see it.

One question is why can't they review that? If you can review an offsides call based on where the line of scrimmage is, why can't you review that to see if it's within a yard of the LOS?

I had no problems with MM going off because essentially he's laying ground work to make sure that bull **** call doesn't happen again. GB runs that kind of play time and again. It's legal and the ref's should have known better.

Speaking of, not just in Packer games, but across the league a lot of really schitty calls/non-calls going on. Didn't these guys go full-time? If yes, sure as hell isn't helping

Maybe Ty needs to tell that to highly paid players like Jordy, Daniels, Bak, and Cobb...

All with soft tissue injuries that apparently meant they couldn't suck it up and play. This is a soft ass team who's very coddled. And yes, someone has to say it,

As a fan that grew up in the 70's and 80's that fell in love with all things football, it pains me to see the "pussification" of the NFL.  I loved the days of smelling salts on the sidelines when you got your bell rung, sucking it up and rubbing some dirt on it.  Those days are long gone though.

If I understand the process correctly, most team doctors have absolute authority over the injury report and whether or not a player gets back into the game after getting a booboo.  The purpose of it is to protect the players from themselves and also to remove the coach from the equation because their competitive spirit can cloud their judgment.  I would assume GB runs it the same way.

But yea... it sucks watching a player stub his toe and ride the bench the rest of the game.

Green will destroy the entire Packer secondary unless Dom puts King on him all day long.  King has the length and measurables to play with AJ.  House, Rollins and Randall will get torched on jump balls.

So are the brains, cartilage, etc... for many of those players. But yes, watching Jack Tatum or Chuck Cecil light guys up was awesome. He doesn't know if he is foot or horseback

If you have not read Instant Replay by Jerry Kramer you will enjoy this. Jerry tells about 1 game where he got kneed in the head and played the whole game. Forrest Gregg had to tell him what to do on each play.  "Pull and block the end."  He had no idea what happened in the game until he watched the film on Tuesday.

Yup his outburst prevented another call like that.....For about 10 minutes.

Fuzzy Thurston had dementia the last few years of his life. Forrest Gregg has advanced Parkinsons. Thankfully, Kramer seems to be OK as of now.

King

“If anything, he’s earned the right to potentially play more,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. “Smooth, confident athlete. He’s getting healthy and he looks comfortable out there. I like the progression that Kevin’s making.”

“I thought I was going to play a lot last week,” King said. “And next week I could play six snaps again, who knows? I didn’t come here to sit, so ...”

“I thought Kevin did a good job,” defensive coordinator Dom Capers said. “I think he continues to grow, you know? We’re encouraged with his progress. He competes well. You saw him break up a couple balls on crossing routes. He’s not afraid to get up and challenge receivers, and I like his style of play.”

and Jones

“As we go along, you see these young guys [and] their reps increase based off of [them getting] more comfortable,” Capers said. “You want to be able to put them out there and have them have success. So I think Kevin, each step I think you’ll see him get more reps as we go along here. Josh Jones last night, I thought he went in and did a nice job. He played more snaps than what he’s played. Both of those guys, I think you’re going to see their reps increase.”

Fire CapersÂĐ had lots of good to say about King and Jones. Said both deserve more playing time.

McCarthy also said King has shown enough to get more snaps.

All of which means they'll see about 5 plays next week while AJ Green is torching the secondary.

I want new defensive tapeÂĐ - Boris

Ok I live right in the heart of Bunguls country (45 minutes from Cincy) and I can tell you that team is an absolute dumpster fire at the moment and the fans want heads to roll.

But, what scares me is that outside of the OL that team has talent all over the place.

On offense AJ Green is a poor man's Julio Jones and they are going to have to contain him.  I told myself I wouldn't even start with the Dom factor with that one. But I will go on record and say the Bengals offense will get off the schnide this week in a big way.

Defensively they are decent and they can put some pressure on the QB.

I worry about this game because of the let down factor after a tough rivalry game against the Seahawks and a but whooping at Atlanta.  The other reason I worry is that is injuries.  I would really like to see a study of how one team year in and year out can have so many injuries.  I know all teams do it is part of the game but the Packers just seem to have so many more.

Randall & Rollins were targeted 11 times Sunday night resulting in 10 completions for 148 yards.

So when you read comments like those from Capers regarding King you want to smash your head against a wall. The guy just comes off sounding like he's not completely invested in fixing his own defense.

You only had to watch a handful of Kings 46 snaps Sunday night to know with absolute certainty he's the best boundary corner in GB.

Ben Fennell@benfennell_NFL

Packers rookie Kevin King looked comfortable last night in 1st extended action.. 46 snaps.

Was aggressive and active.. Never looked lost.

But here is Capers telling us King will get more snaps "as we go along". **** that. Dom needs to step out and tell everyone King is now a starting DB. Period.

I've finally reached the sobering conclusion that MM is never, ever going to fire Dom Capers. And I think Dom simply coaches like a guy that isn't overly concerned about accountability. It's maddening.

Appreciate the insight and agree the Bengals have talent, but in addition to the OL being in shambles there is also the little issue of the insurrection involving the starting QB.

The frustrations with Dalton, among fans and teammates, are longstanding and his play has been so putrid in 2017 that Kaepernick is now being talked about as a genuine alternative.

If Dom allows this team, which is averaging 4.5 points at home to come into Lambeau and go off, it will be right up there with his making Colin K into a supposedly legitimate NFL star QB.

No way Cincy should score 20 on Sunday in Green Bay.
