Every game to me is like "2018, just get yo 2018".
Broxton will be a keeper if he learns to hit consistently.

I'm told the Brewers plan to send one of their SoCal scouts to Tim Tebow's workout next week. At minimum, it's due diligence.

The Mets just signed Tebow.

Just pathetic that any major league organization would sign this guy. I know it's only instructional league, but do the Mets really need to sell those Tebow Mets jerseys to the SEC rednecks to get the extra income?
Always good to pound on the Cards
Wong with the bat flip - yet another classy move from the classiest organization in baseball
I think the most satisfaction comes from all the stolen bases on Molina. You can see that was eating him up
Nice article about Arcia since Darnell Coles helped him. I don't get why a primary prospect like Arcia no one else could see or help him to fix his swing. My MVP this year is Batting Coach Darnell Coles.

BTW, Arcia went to the wall in right last night getting robbed or the Crew would have been up 5-4. How many of the other kids can Coles help?
Over the last 20 games, #Brewers starting pitchers have a 2.83 ERA, best in the majors over that span.

Ryan Braun 2016:

Ryan Braun career:

Pretty good competition they've faced in the last 20.
Always good to see them punk STL
Ryan Braun's go-ahead HR yesterday at St. Louis snapped his 52-game homerless streak against the Cardinals (205 AB), since 4/14/13 at StL.

Braun for Puig and Brandon McCarthy was apparently a thing.
Not really sure how I feel about that. Braun produces. The Puig of his first half season would be, well, that would be amazing. And I love McCarthy, I think he's vastly underrated pitcher that hasn't been been able to stay healthy. If healthy, he's a nice addition. And, one of the best Twitter games...
McCarthy to balance out the salaries a little bit? Not the worst buy low wildcard you could pick up.
2 prospects, interesting.
Puig. Are you getting the monster OF or the monster in the clubhouse. If he wrecks your developing culture, even if he hits he can be a negative.
Ultimately, I would not have minded if they pulled the trigger, but it is not a move without risk. I don't mind keeping Braun either, he is still clearly one of the best hitters in the game.
How about Stearns need to hoard OF?
Wouldn't LA be willing to take on the remainder of Braun's salary as well? Thought that may have been part of the swap as well. If true, that's quite the carrot for the Brewers despite how well Braun has played. Future liability is never a good thing especially for a guy that's been dinged a lot in recent history.
I don't think the Brewers want to trade Braun for salary relief, they want to trade him for talent. If it was just taking on his salary, he'd be long gone with season he is having
I like Broxton in CF and Villar at 2nd
I would agree with you Bong that seems to be the place both guys will end up in the longer term.
Have to figure Santana is slotted in one of the OF spots; they deal Braun they have plenty of up and comers (like Brinson) that could fill the void.
Perez may be their 1st baseman next year if they want to move on from Carter.
I like Hernan at 3rd. Would like to see Santana start playing at first.
****ing cubs
Outfielder Keon Broxton left today's game in the third inning with a right wrist fracture after colliding into the left-center field wall.

Kirk left with an abdominal strain. Might see Brinson sooner than later
Hearing Michael Reed is on his way up to join the Brewers after Broxton/Nieuwenhuis injured today. Brewers haven't confirmed.
â Adam McCalvy (@AdamMcCalvy) September 16, 2016
Good for him, had a nice year on the farm
Maybe Wrigley Field should get with the 21st century and pad the damn outfield walls like every other team? Oh wait- that would diminish the history and tradition of WF.
Disappoining to see Broxton get dinged that way but next guy up I guess. Maybe it paves the way for Brinson or another one of their up and comers.
He's out for 6 to 8 weeks, I don't think this carries any weight in the grand scheme of things
Hate to see a guy like that get hurt the way he did. He was ascending and hopefully this doesn't impact his development. These younger guys need all the playing time they can get.
The team is starting to take shape and I think by 2018 they might be ready to make some noise.
Braun is really hot right now. 3 homers in the last 2 games. 5 RBI today.
Crew takes series! Carter sets new team record for k's. I like this team a lot and the best might be in the minors.
Brewers are 9-3 down the stretch against STL and CHC while they are in pennant runs... And the Brewers have their closer. Thornberg is lights out- made Bryant and Rizzo look bad with 2 on and 1out. Only reason they didn't sweep is because Thornberg didn't pitch Friday.
Carter hits #38 a personal high!
Villar with his 29th E. Offense won't get him in the lineup with Stearns and Counsel.
Carter hits #41 to win last night. Tied for league lead with a game left.
Do they actually sign him for next year? Has played in 159 out of 161 games.
The Crew can still offer arbitration, so I am sure he will be signed. There is a chance he is traded, but with no one in the wings, I think we see Chris back again next year for somewhere around 5 million. Payroll is low, there are no barriers to bringing Carter back.
Be nice to see Villar get a home run and become the Brewers first and only 20/60 guy.
The two guys I would put at "most likely to wear another uniform next year" are Scooter and Braun.
Stearns says Brewers will bring back Chris Carter. He's due a significant raise in arbitration from $3M (2.5 + incentives) in 2016.

CC concedes Villar wasn't very good at 3B, says he was happy to get a look at 2B. But not set in stone that's where VR play in '17.
