The emergence of Broxton has been nothing short of amazing.  The guy is quickly becoming a legit starting CF and he has all the tools.

The other guy that's killing it is Tyler Thornburg.   He's been just about unhittable and maybe they have found his niche as a closer?

Their record is awful, but there is a lot to get excited about with the Brewers.  Very impressed with how Stearns and Co. are building this team

From this winter16) Ryan Cordell, OF, Grade C+: Age 23, hit .311/.376/.528 in the Cal League but just .217/.263/.335 with 12 walks, 73 strikeouts in 221 at-bats in the Texas League, stole 20 bases with 18 homers overall. Power/speed combo is enticing and everyone loves his tools, but Double-A pitching exposed holes in his swing that were masked in High Desert. Another guy with mixed opinions from observers: some think he will blossom in another year or two, others don’t think he’ll develop sufficient skills to make the tools work. Could rank as high as 8 if you believe in his ability to improve, or 28 if you don’t.

I guess Stearns thinks you can never have enough outfielders

Braun, Broxton and Santana start in the OF next year.  Brinson needs a spot sooner than later (I keep texting Stearns to get Santana a first basemens glove for Christmas, but he insists the candlesticks are the right gift).  Ray, Clark and Phillips are also talented OF in the system leaving this kid little room.  Maybe Stearns sees a first basemen in one of these guys (Santana or Cordell would make pretty big targets).

He's the Texas #6 prospect, might not crack our top 20.  Not a bad third player in the trade, but man, would I have liked some more pitching to come into the system.
