Cardinals are down 4 in the 9th, two on, two out.

Matt Carpenter tries to lay down a bunt.  How the **** does this team always win?

Well, after he fails to bunt it in play, he gets himself down in the count against the 2015 save leader.

He then singles to get the tying run to the plate.

I hate the cardinals

But the Cards still lost.  They stranded 10 in the process.  Had the bases loaded in 2 different innings and couldn't get anyone across.  This maybe the season the Cards don't make the playoffs.  They have the pitching, but not the hitting.  2 guys went down in spring training - both at the SS position.  3 pitchers that would have been on the ML roster are on the DL.  They have played 1 game of the season and have 161 more to go and already their depth is being tested.  There are only so many miracles they can pull this year.  I know that games in ST have mixed lineups, but the Cards had a hard time winning and ended up with a losing record.  Very un-Cardinal like - even if it was spring training.

Anyone have any idea how Jurickson Profar is considered as a prospect still.  I see he is healthy and his bat speed is supposedely where it was in the past.  2 years off though will make him rusty.

When Lucroy was being sought after this spring, I was hoping Profar would be attainable.  Any idea where he stands anymore?

Do we need to get a urine sample on Anderson?  Had to been something last night.  No hitter into the eight.  One strike away from complete game shutout one hitter!

ROASTED

Reign Of Awful Stearn Traumatic Era, Damn.

Example 12,378 of why I knew Cubs fans would be the absolute worst, even worse than Cardinals fans, once they start winning.

So the Cubs have traded for Chapman to improve the bullpen.  But, it sure seems to me that as a team they kind of have hit a wall in July.  I wonder if it is more of a case of them coming back to earth (very hard to keep up a .720 winning percentage) or are they just the Cubs being destined to choke?

Amazing how much he tanked his Free Agency value.

I think that might have been the problem with the guy.. he was trying so damn hard to succeed for the $$$ to come.. and it got to his head.  After he left MKE and FA became more real.. those 1.5 years he bottomed out fast.

I love having Gomez around, but with our system so chalk full of OF's and guys that have legit talent in AAA (Wren).. as well as Broxton starting to show in the majors.. I just don't see him wanting to take the risk of having to ride the pine for a full season after performing so badly the last 1.5 years.

Zach Wheeler - the guy the Mets pulled back the Carlos Gomez trade over.. and also the guy rumored to be the centerpiece of the offer from the Mets for Lucroy is likely to be shut down for the season with elbow soreness in his recently surgically repaired elbow.

Tough break for the guy...

Absolute Karma for the Mets.
