I think you can make a case for Butler and Holmgren.  Of those two I honestly believe Holmgren has the better shot.

I just don't think Sharpe's career was long enough and Driver played in an era where I don't think he will have the stats to get in.  I truly believe DD is what a HOF player should be but I don't think he can get there.

Sharpe's career was curtailed by a serious neck injury. He was arguably the top receiver in the NFL at the time the injury occurred. If Terrell Davis is in the HOF, Sharpe should be as well.

Yup.

I think for maybe 3 years the Packers did not have a whole lot at second wideout, tight end, and RB's and still, somehow Sharpe caught in the neighborhood of a 100 passes.

I think he belongs.

Sharpe had a very good career even before he got hurt, and sadly, he and Favre were forming sort of an unstoppable duo by the end of the '94 season.

As bad as that Thanksgiving game against Dallas was in '94 where they gave up 40 points to freaking Jason Garrett as QB, Sterling Sharpe may have had his best game as a Packer.  He was basically the only reason they stayed in that game, Dallas could not stop him and I believe he had 3 TDs that day.  I am thinking it was within a month of that where he hurt is neck and his career was over.

Sad because as great as he had been up to that point in his career, he was maybe going to get even a notch better with an improving Favre.  His last year he had 18 freaking TDs!!!  And Favre really wasn't the Hall of Fame bound Favre until about the mid-point of '94 when he emerged as an MVP caliber player after a near-benching for Brunell.  Some people say that Favre emerged once Sharpe was gone and that isn't entirely true.  I think Favre already was showing signs of his greatness the last half of  the '94 season.  It's just unfortunate that Sharpe was really around for only that 1/2 season of Favre starting to play exceptional MVP caliber football.

I think Sharpe deserves to be in

Jerry Rice gets all the publicity but I still contend that during 1992-1994 Sharpe may have been the best WR in the NFL and if not was certainly the most dominating WR in his era

The guy was double and triple teamed and still made catches.  He also had the ability to run past you or run over you in a way I've not seen since he played

And he put up monster stats before the rules were changed that allowed WRs to accumulate gaudy stats that you see today

If Sharpe played today he might have 150 catches in a season

It's way past high time that Jerry Kramer gets into the HOF. Face it, he should have been in the HOF decades ago.

Agree. I follow his page on Facebook that his kid(s) run and they are constantly posting quotes from other HOFers saying he should be in. It's actually an interesting page to follow. This recent post about the relationship between JFK and Lombardi was interesting:
