Kworst has his place. It's easy to say that he is always a barometer of how not to think when you are having success. I've come to believe that his viewpoint is also necessary to ensure that you can define reality. If you are truly excelling his posts are sort of interesting and easily dismissed. If you are sort of good, his posts are irritating.

Our defense can play with any team in the league. period. And as I'm flipping around, different sportscasters are singing the praises of the Pack. Jimmy Johnson called them the most dangerous team in the playoffs, Terry Bradshaw or Howie Long (I forget which) said the Pack are the most dangerous wild card team he's seen in some time. And Bob Costas just said that he thinks Tony Dungy is in love with the Packers.

Some people have short memories. I don't want to put a downer on things but most called us the best wild card theam they'd seen last year too. Our offense was much better in the 2nd half last year, not up and down like this year. I think our D is better this year even with so many #1s missing. Special teams, who knows. And while I really really really like MM he needs to be more consistent with play calling and forget about the 30yard pass plays. I think in the playoffs it's more important to control the clock and move the chains. IMHO JMHO
Oh I completely agree, ammo. I'm not sold on the Packers at being the team the media are jumping on now. We're wildly talented, but inconsistent, and a lot of that is due to the guys we just don't have on the field right now.

To be honest, we don't have to win another game, and I think this season is a success. To go 10-6 with all the Packers have had to fight through...anything we do in the playoffs right now is just icing on the cake. A Lombardi trophy coming home would be a great thing, but I'm thrilled we made the playoffs at all. I love that this team never quit.

Now next year, I think the NFL needs to really look out for the Pack.

To me, I think we need at least one more win to have this considered a successful season. That would show an improvement over last year. I realize we've had to overcome some tremendous obstacles, but this is a league where the only thing that counts is winning. In a few years, everyone will have forgotten about all the injuries, but they'll remember how far into the playoffs we got. Plus, I think that the Eagles are a team that we should beat. Losing to them would put a bitter taste in my mouth for the off season.

I agree- the Packers have to win a playoff game under Aaron Rodgers to really exorcize some demons.

For all the talk ab out how the Packers have put together a great team and the McCarthy is a great coach, they have to prove that to be true by winning this playoff game. I believe in this team as much as anyone, but they still haven't proven anything at the level of Championship football. This is their 1995 season playoff matchup against the 49ers- you gotta prove yourself now.

It isn't a Super Bowl or bust kinda thing- just win in the playoffs and show people that you are ready to make that next step. And if you get a couple breaks or 12 gets hot, maybe you just might win it all. We just cannot see what we have seen them do so much this season- find ways to lose. I will lose confidence that this team has what it takes to win a Championship if they cannot win a playoff game.

Screw that. This is "next year". Win THIS year! I don't care who is out there.

I would like nothing better, Boris. I will cheer them on no matter what. I am just happy to have progressed this far.

Gave him key to the city. Exciting game that was, but still, for win or lose at Lambeau to get in, forget what other teams are doing or need to do, the Steelers game was #1 for me.

But, Paul Allen's crying in that Cards game is a close second to his crying last year when Bert threw the pick against the Saints.
Lovie Smith got dam lucky! He should have pulled Cutler at some point in the 3rd. There's no way to justify leaving him in the game, especially considering the beating he was taking and the fact that he's already had a concussion this year. They already had a 1st round BYE and weren't playing for anything other than bragging rights about sweeping the division. If Cutler gets seriously hurt or injury prone players like Urlacher or Tillman got hurt then Lovie just cost them the playoffs (more so with Cutler than the others)...he still looks like a dope in my book though!

Nope. Packer home game win and then reciever for Cards made outstanding catch to beat the Vikings.

Most fun final game that went to the last minute to have Packers make the playoffs since Yancy Thigpen dropped a sure touchdown, Christmas 1995.

Having been at both of these games (I go to a game every few years) they were awesome thrills. The Steeler's game was the best game but we were thrashing the Broncos and the crowd became subdued when we realized this was all for nothing since the play-offs were not a reality (no way the Vikings would lose to the cards and they were beating them). The guy sitting near us had a phone says, the cards just scored a TD...... cards just got the OS kick........(the crowd is being whipped up into a frenzy) guy with the phone puts his fist in the air about 2 seconds before the Packer faithful erupt!!!! Different but both very fun. Most fun? Hard to say.

That was interesting.

I give the Bears "D" credit. I didn't think they could shut down the Packers offense and they brought it all game long.

I think Lovie probably adopted the strategy that as long as the game was close he would play to win. If the score got separated (one way or the other) he would rest guys. The Bears D played well. Except for a couple of coverage mistakes on Jennings, the GB offense basically did squat against them. If the Bears Oline could have even played average they probably would have scored a couple more times and won but they reverted to early season form and doomed the effort.

Here is to both teams moving forward in the playoffs and doing well against the Philly Vicks, Nawlins Brees and Hotlanta Matty-Ices. It would give the talking heads whiplash if all their favorite QB-wunders got dismissed from the dance.
