Russian River Brewery is releasing the 2017 PTY today. Available only as draft. It's served for two weeks every year. Triple IPA. Has anyone tried it? It's basically the ghost of beers. I'm seriously considering making the drive to their brewery in Santa Rosa. But I understand the line to get in can be four hours long. People actually travel from all over the US for the next two weeks. I'm a big IPA fan but wanted to see if anyone's had a chance try it and chime in if the wait is worth it.

Friggin way more hype than it's worth IMO.

Saw the news this morning, people looked like homeless camps sitting in lines with umbrellas, tarps, tents, chairs, etc. Ridiculous

There was a group of guys who flew in from Sweden in line this morning.

The only reason I don't say eff it and go is I've had plenty of RRBC's double hop IPA Pliny The Elder. Which is good. But not one of my favorites. The Younger is 6th on BeerAdvocate top 250. So it doesn't suck. But I can't justify standing in line for a few hours for a three pint limit. Only reason for going is to cross it off the "beers I need to try" list.

I have a buddy in Indiana that has some Dark Lord he's willing to crack open next time I am in the area.  I trust his taste, he claims it is overrated.  Lots of locals claim it is overrated, despite the lines, camping out, and outrageous secondary market.

I suspect the locals are sick of the hype making the beer impossible to get.

Watching the Pheonix Open.  A bright sunny day in the desert and here at 8500 ft of elevation called for a summertime ale.  New Belgium Hoppy Blonde fits the bill.

Didn't have to wait in line either,

Prosit!
