Not sure where the comp pick is for Hyde. GB got their 4 comp picks but I'd think Hyde would take precedent over the 6th rounders for Lacy. But I have no idea how comp picks are decided on.
Overthecap.com has made an adjustment and now have Martellus Bennett cancelling out the Micah Hyde contract. The Jahri Evans contract cancels out the loss of Julius Peppers. They have the following:
T.J. Lang = 3rd
J.C. Tretter = 5th
Jared Cook = 6th
Eddie Lacy = 6th
The loss of Datone Jones would have been worth a sixth but teams are limited to four compensatory picks each year. So Green Bay will not get any compensation for the loss of Jones.
The Packers will very likely also be getting Buffalo's 7th round pick from the Lerentee McCray trade.
So as of today it appears the Packers have an extra 3rd, 5th, 6th, 6th and 7th in the 2018 draft.
Packerjoe, great info. Thanks! FWIW, I though Evans was cut by the Saints, didn't count in the compensatory pick equation. But guess it's moot since, as you stated, we maxed out the 4 picks allowed.
Ted is salivating at the thought of getting Comp Picks and carrying over salary. That's literally all he cares about.
Effective today. Any available free agents signed by teams do not figure into the 2018 comp pick calculation. They are effectively true free agents now.

Don't forget about having the youngest roster. That's important to him also.
Not a player on that list worth it. Like what we have going forward.
From what I've read about comp picks is that no one knows exactly what the formula is but it is not a simple 1 for 1 relationship. For example they may figure Jones loss in by adding it to another loss and that might bump the pick higher.
There are no starters on that list. But there is some potential veteran depth for the bottom half of the roster. Probably very inexpensive and useful once the injuries start piling up.
Not that many years ago many many on here wanted Anquan Boldin to be a Packer. Now he is available and nobody wants him.
There are 10 players on that list that offer better depth than Barclay. Some of them play WR and safety.
I like Sio Moore. He might be able to start for the Packers if he's healthy.

I hear Sio Moore and I immediately think of the time he and Kalil Mack were bouncing around the field like they were riding stick ponies after sacking Alex Smith on 3rd down with 40 seconds left in the game holding onto a small lead.
Only they forgot about 4th down and the Chiefs snapped the ball with Moore and Mack still 20 yards in their backfield. Offside Oakland. Stopped clock. That was awesome.
No idea what he's done since then or what kind of player he is. That's all I think about when it comes to Sio.
I see a fair number of at least speed dial candidates on the list. Odrick, Moore, Vincent Jackson, etc. would make decent injury replacements.
Holy ****. So I just looked up what GB is paying Jordan Tripp to take up a roster spot at LB in 2017. $690,000. Jordan Tripp has accomplished nothing in the NFL. The guy has 19 career tackles in 4 years. He's on his fourth team since being drafted in 2014.
Arizona paid Sio Moore $286k last year. Sio has racked up 218 tackles in spot duty over 4 years.
I have no idea how good Sio Moore is but don't you have to tell Tripp to get lost and sign Moore? Hell, you really just need to tell Jordan Tripp to get lost. That's crazy money for a guy that's done nothing.
268K is less than the minimum for a practice squad player. Something wrong with your accounting there, bud.
Sio collected $400k from the Colts. $125k from KC. $268k from AZ. He didn't play a snap for KC. Played a total of 8 games last year. He can be had for league min. Which probably makes him worth a look. Sio racked up 65 tackles last year in 8 games on essentially two different teams.

Boris, I also like Moore and before the draft thought Gerald Hodge would be a consideration after the comp period. Until Jhari Evans was signed I really wanted TT to spend a few dollars and get Orlando Franklin but at 6 million that is a lot of dough for 10 really good pancake blocks a season!!
