Quarless arrested for firing gun

This is NOT the kind of person this team needs this year.  This is not just over-exuberance... it is stupid, arrogant, WAY beyond simply dangerous, and at the VERY least, a distraction.  I'm a strong 2nd Amendment supporter... and he needs to be GONE.  This is not good for the community, the team, or him.  It's a serious character flaw.  Something my beloved team does NOT need.  I had high hopes for him this year.  He can fulfill those somewhere else.  VERY disappointing.

Do they like him enough to back him up or do you make an example out of him for what not to do?

at least when Guion had his little faux pas, he quickly apologized to teammates and fans.  No sign of that from Quarless.  I hope we cut his butt.

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers plan to stand by tight end Andrew Quarless following his July 4 arrest in Miami Beach, Florida.

According to two sources, the Packers have no plans to release the sixth-year veteran, who was charged with a misdemeanor for discharging a firearm in public. 

Original article first says "into the ground," then third paragraph from the bottom says one of the shots was "straight into the sky."

 

Not much of a difference I guess.  Either way that is some true dip**** behavior right there.

So be it.  The Packers need to do the right thing here and dump his dumbass.

Exactly. Wait and see if Packers allow the young man a chance to turn his life around and learn from his mistakes. Or, cut the punk.

It would've been easier for Ted to dump Quarless had he done this a few months ago. Tough to go into training camp with only Richard Rodgers and a bunch of totally unproven players.

It would have been easier for Quarless to do this a few months ago instead of forcing his team to make a decision right before camp. 

 

This makes him a monumental dumbass. And because that **** for brains didn't understand the spot he was putting the team in when he was pretty much slated into the starting role is exactly why his ass needs to be sent down the road. 

Team has announced they are not releasing hI'm. At least not yet.

I agree with this stance 100%, just because the level of stupidity of Quarless' actions is blinding. Add to that, cutting him sends a message to this young team. Keeping him sends a different message. 

 

God told him to do it.  Belichek is hacking phones now.

The whole manhood thing was exhibited without the need for guns simply by lifting their kilts a few centuries ago.  For those with little manhoods the next step was a sword and chopping the heads of the bigger manhood guys off.

 

Ah for the good old days....

On the bright side I anticipate he will play his butt off this year to make up for being a dumbfuk when he hits free agency next spring. Maybe he plays really well and puts up good numbers and some team gives him a sweet deal and GB gets a decent comp pick in 2017.

Very disappointed with the Packers if they really do decide to keep this guy.

Waiting until TC is over to dump his ass might be worthwhile. That way he doesn't catch on with another rival team early enough to learn a play book.

Trade him to Miami

A trial for Green Bay Packers tight end Andrew Quarless on a gun charge stemming from a July incident in Miami Beach has been delayed again.

Quarless, who is out with an injured knee, was scheduled to go to trial this week on a misdemeanor charge of discharging a firearm in public.

The case was delayed for a third time but records indicate that will be the last one. The new trial date is Nov. 30, which is four days after Quarless is eligible to return to the field against the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving night. Quarless was placed on the team’s “injured reserve/designated to return” list after spraining his knee against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Quarless’ attorney, Edward O’Donnell, said Tuesday he expects the case will be completed, one way or another, in the next month.

“I think this case will resolve in a very amicable way and if not, we’ll go to trial. We’ll see,” he said, declining to say how it might be resolved.

The charge resulted from an incident in which witnesses said Quarless fired a .45-caliber handgun in the air twice early in the morning on July 4 in South Beach. Quarless fired the gun during an argument with a woman, according to a police report.

After the shots were reported, police searched the area, found Quarless hiding and recovered the gun in a potted plant, according to the report.

O’Donnell said there was no threat made during the incident or Quarless would have been charged with a felony.

A spokeswoman with the State Attorney’s Office for Miami-Dade County declined to comment because it is an open case.

In California he'd be looking at a felony for each shot.  He should just settle it.  Goodell will do whatever he is going to do regardless of what happens in court.

 

If Quarless doubles up on the dumb and takes it to trial and puts the team through the inevitable media circus that will follow, I will be pissed.  

He's an azzhole.
