Hello everyone,

With Training Camp upon us and the 2006 Packer season starting shortly, per FRZ's request we have put together a set of written rules for everyone at X4 to review and follow. Please follow these as they will be regularly enforced
by FRZ and the Moderators at X4. These rules apply to all open forums.

For now, we will allow posting of comments or questions regarding these rules. For those of you who have been members of X4 for some time, you will note that the vast majority of these aren't anything new. However, we are anticipating a significant increase in the daily visits and traffic from new members who will be looking to post at X4.

I want to extend our sincere thanks for your cooperation in following these rules.

POSTING RULES FOR X4

On behalf of FRZ and the Moderators here at X4 we want to extend our warm welcome to you and thanks for visiting X4! We believe we have put together a fine sports forum whose primary mission is to create discussion and express our pride surrounding the Green Bay Packers. You will also note we have developed other forums for other sports and topics. We welcome you to post your thoughts in those forums as well. We are proud of the community we have gathered here and believe we have a forum that is free of smack talk and is respectful of fellow members. It is in that spirit we direct you to the following rules for posting on X4:

1.) Post relevant threads in the appropriate forum(s). Threads involving the Green Bay Packers and the NFL belong in the Green Bay Packers forum. Specific threads involving previous regimes of the Packers (e.g. threads about Mike Sherman) are to be posted in the Previous Packer Regimes forum. Threads about other sports need to go into the appropriate forum. A Moderator will move threads that are started in the wrong forum to the appropriate forum or delete/edit them as necessary.

2.) Before posting, please be aware of threads discussing the same topic that have already been posted. A Moderator will delete and/or combine multiple threads to avoid “fracturing” of discussion on the same topic. Please be especially aware that during Packer season threads move quickly up and down the 1st page of the Packer forum. Please look beyond page 1 before starting a new thread to ensure this topic has not been started yet. When starting a thread,

3.) Thread Titles: Do not use vague thread titles such as "Did you know..." as it gives members no information about your topic and leads to duplicate thread topics. Please make your thread titles specific and as clear as possible so readers are aware of the discussion topic.

4.) For obvious reasons, the Green Bay Packers forum is the most popular forum. Many members like to post off topic threads (called OT threads) to discuss a wide variety of topics. If you decide to post an OT thread, begin the thread with “OT” so that the members here are aware these threads are not Packer or NFL related. Moderators will edit or delete OT threads that are not titled appropriately. Please also limit the amount of OT threads you start during the Green Bay Packer season (this includes the period from Training Camp-Super Bowl) to keep this forum primarily about the Packers/NFL.

5.) Forum Wars: A forum war is when a member of X4 hyperlinks this website on another forum inviting them to come over to X4 and talk smack. Often the other forum is an opposing team such as the Vikings or Rams. This is strictly prohibited. Forum Wars are neither beneficial nor to they encourage respectful dialogue between two or more fan groups.

6.) Discussion of Politics/Religion or other Hot Button Topics: During specific times of the year, there is a Politics Forum on X4. If you do not see it, that is because the forum is currently inactive. Threads about politics, hot button issues like religion, gas prices, crime, etc. must be posted in that forum. DISCUSSION OF ANY OF THESE TOPICS AT ANY TIME IN ANY OTHER FORUM INCLUDING THE GREEN BAY PACKER FORUM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. There will also be ZERO TOLERANCE for any attempt to disguise a politically charged thread into any other forum. If the Politics forum is inactive, refer to other websites on the Internet to express your thoughts/opinions involving these topics.

7.) Posting etiquette: X4 realizes that being a sports fan is an emotional experience. We also acknowledge that events like Packer games can evoke a wide variety of emotions (both good and bad!). When posting, note that smack talk will NOT be tolerated in the open forums. This includes name calling, referring to a fellow poster in a derogatory manner, using condescending language or graemlins that are intended to provoke posters, and any other behavior deemed by the Moderators to be inappropriate. Use of certain inappropriate language regardless how cleverly disguised it is (e.g. typing with *, %, $,) will also not be tolerated. Posts like these will be edited, deleted or your entire post may be removed. Entire threads may be locked or deleted if they have become derailed or taken completely off its original intention. We have a PM (private message) feature on X4. If you feel the need to discuss matters with another poster, take these to a PRIVATE topic. If you see a post that is inappropriate, please notify a Moderator and/or flag the post using the “!” feature on the upper right hand corner of the post. A Moderator will address it as soon as possible. If your thread/post has been deleted/edited or locked, it is because you violated one or more of these rules. DO NOT begin another thread or post asking why it was deleted. If you are unsure of why this occurred, send a PM to the Moderators of that forum and they will respond to you in a PM. Posting of any pornographic X rated material or language is also strictly prohibited on any open forum!!!

8.) Multiple identity/smurfs: Creation of multiple identities by a single poster is strictly prohibited. This has been attempted before by a few posters who thought they were being deceptive enough to not get caught. In time, they were always identified. If you wish to change your "handle" on x4, please contact FRZ and he will assist you in changing your username.

Violation of the above rules may result in disciplinary action including suspension or termination of your posting privileges. These rules will be STRICTLY enforced by FRZ and the Moderators at X4. Your cooperation is appreciated. For any other specific questions or concerns, please direct them to a Moderator or FRZ via a PM message. Thank you and enjoy your time on X4!

So if its inactive how can one post a political comment to the appropriate forum if its inactive?

FRZ: I'm having trouble opening attachments. I click on them and nothing will pop up. It only has been happening since July. Also, the only way I'm allowed to reply on the board is to hit the REPLY with QUOTES icon. If I just hit REPLY, nothing happens. Are there new changes or methods that I need to review or do?

Did you install something in July?

I'll PM you.

Yes, thank you. I think I had our security/Spam/virus software updated in July.

I'm not sure how to undo it. I'll wait for the PM

thanks
