Welcome back Cam.

Just watched his post-game presser. Threatening to retire the petulance trophy. Walked out after three minutes of mostly one- and two-word responses. Steve Young basically just called him out for failing to act like a leader and MVP should.

Cam is a little b*tch. I think seeing him act like a brat and get pummeled is worth putting up with the Broncos hype machine. People on Twitter calling his non-fumble recovery a "business decision". Hopefully puts an end to the speculation pretty quick because Denver is going to need all the cap money they can get with most of that vicious front 7 heading to free agency including Von Miller. He just earned himself the highest contract ever for a defensive player!

You live by the antics you die by the antics Cam.  What a spoiled brat but that's nothing new with that guy.  He's all about himself 100% of the time.

Everyone is thinking he's the next great thing.  Good luck with that.  Him giving up on the fumble and his presser are all people will remember and that's fine with me.

Denver - what can you say?  They humbled just about every good QB they played this year.  Very impressive.

Cam is still only 26 and has showed he can improve so he isn't going away anytime soon.

That said, I couldn't be happier with the way things transpired last night, other than the donkeys claiming another Vinny.  The press was just drenching him in praise, "best football player on the planet".  F every single one of them.  Simms even said at one point that if it weren't for his legs, he'd still be a great QB.  What a crock.  Cam still misses wide open receivers as often as he hits them.  Scam on!

Denver sure looked like they borrowed the old Giants super Bowl winning formula. Ravens did it previously too with Trent Dilfer at QB. Congrats to Wade Phillips for finally winning a Super Bowl after a long career in the league, his Dad Bum, too.

He looked like the Cam from 2014 that ran a good rushing attack, but couldn't pass for schit. The difference is the pressure, he can't handle guys pressuring him. He had a terrible OLine in 2014 which allowed a lot of pressure, but this year his OLine has been solid. They had a rough night against Miller and Co. and Cam couldn't handle the heat.

All you people bashing Newton are just a bunch of racists!  Cam is the most genuine, humble and selfless person that there is on the face of the earth.  Just ask all the knowledgeable mainstream sport writers that ran Nolan Nawrocki out of the business.

I can understand not diving for a fumble in a regular season game, afterall the risk is much higher than the reward.  Just ask Andy Dalton.

But the Super Bowl?  Pathetic.  I hope all the Cam jock sniffers admit they were wrong, but it's doubtful.   Nobody saw this sign of him this season because they didn't lose a meaningful game until the Super Bowl.  The real Cam Newton was on display during and after the game.  I don't even have a strong dislike for the guy, but the media agenda in the last week where "you must love Cam Newton" was over the top.

Does it bother anyone else that he can't be bothered to even take off his skull cap during the National Anthem?

I still think he misses way to many wide open receivers to be considered one of the best.  I will say it might take him a little longer since he was a run first guy for quite awhile but you don't win in the NFL on legs alone you win with using your mobility and being accurate.  Newton is good when he can just chuck it up there and guys come down with the ball.  Remember the Packers game against him?  it seemed like what he mostly did was throw up rainbows and his receivers came down with it every time.

As for his leadership I question it.  He seems like the type of athlete that is a front runner.  What I mean by that is he is as high as can be when things are going well but the second they don't he acts like a spoiled brat.

nice catch there, GBP Rules!  I saw that but only thought about how goofy he looks with that towel over his head.   I think all players should take off any headgear (helmet, hat, skull cap, towel) while the NA is being played.

I also noted that he didn't wear the towel around his head at his presser....but he had his hoodie!  Maybe James Jones could design a hoodie that goes up and over the shoulder pads and under the helmet.  Now that I think about it, JJ should patent that look for Cam.

I'm happy for Peyton Manning. That said, he looks like a shell of what he once was and was pretty low on the list as to reasons why Denver won this game.

It would have taken guys like Spergon Wynn or Rick Mirer playing the QB spot for Denver to have lost this one.  Peyton isn't what he once was, but even he doesn't suck as bad as those guys did.

Let's hope TT can break from his past history and raid 1 or 2 of those FA's from the Denver D.

On the flipside of Cameron.

Did anyone see the pic of Thomas Davis stitched up arm following last weeks surgery so he could go yesterday?

I was going to post it. But it's probably better if you decide on your own if you want to take a gander. It's, um, graphic

No, they should just do away with all the pseudo-patriotic crap before and during the game. When the Army is paying for the color guard, displays, etc. it all becomes empty and meaningless.

It bothered me less than to see the first things Peyton Manning did post game was to shill ****ty pizza and ****ty beer. Repeatedly.

Wow that Broncos defense was good.  Von Miller pulled a Joe Flacco and had about as good a year and an even better post season as you can dream of in the final year of his contract.  It's hard for a defensive player to be the best player on a Super Bowl winning team but Von was and he's going to be the highest payed defensive player in the league.  Suh got $114m over 6 years - Miller might get $120m.  And if they tag him (exclusive, most likely), it's only going to get worse for the Broncos.  He was unblockable the last 2 weeks and even looked good in coverage, making him even more dangerous.  I would trade 2 late first round picks for him and give him $100m.  If he plays like he did this week, he's worth it.

Unfortunately for TT, the criticism of his "draft and develop, minimal free agency" philosophy only gets stronger when the GB media sees how Elway built this Broncos team.  Ware, Ward, Stewart, Talib, Sanders, Mathis, Manning, Harris and Daniels are 9 starters that were signed as free agents.  The first 6 played HUGE roles in the win too (latter three, not so much).  I love the D&D approach and there is still a huge place for it in building a team........but you have to wonder if TT's approach to free agency is flat out wrong.  It might have made sense pre-CBA, with a flat salary cap and veterans getting overpaid.  But there are a lot of deals out there and this Broncos team shows it.

On another note.......the Broncos turned over their entire coaching staff last offseason.  Just more fuel for those saying we need to see coordinator changes in Green Bay..........

Peyton threw a handful of really ugly balls last night.  Probably should have had two more picks.  Just can't get the ball to a certain spot as quickly as he would like anymore.  It was hard to watch but hell, he went out on top.  Both D's were pretty fierce.  I don't know if we could have beat either of them with a full roster.

This is the only thing that annoys me about the Broncos win.  I could list 15 players, easy, that meant more to this team than Manning yet the story revolves around him.  There are backups on defense that played a more important role on this team than Manning.  This postseason was ALL about the defense yet the story is all Manning and it seems like he's basking in it.  I mean, can you imagine Trent Dilfer doing this?  Because that's what Manning was to this team, an adequate game manager who actually sucked at avoiding turnovers (2 fumbles, 1 lost and a pick).  It just doesn't sit right with me.

That said, I do like that the narrative changes for him.  With all the terrible defenses he was saddled with in Indy, he deserved to win another Super Bowl.   He got blamed way too much in Indy for their playoff failures.  And finally, we can stop with the Eli vs. Peyton discussion now that they have the same number of championships.

And if I'm TT, I go all out to get either Danny Trevathon or Brandon Marshall to play ILB for this defense.  The Broncos will pay one of them to stay but likely can't afford both.  I'd love to see one of them in Green Bay.

EDIT: Just read that Marshall is a restricted free agent.  He'll be tendered 1st round, ruining my plan.  If Trevathon somehow makes to free agency, still think TT should go all in on him.  He is an injury risk but he's that good and fits a huge need at ILB.

Good point.  It seemed more like the end of a NASCAR race.  I wish he had thrown in a Nationwide jingle as well.

Can't stand the Donkeys, can't stand Horseface and my allegiance is to the NFC, and yet there I was last nite pulling for the donks because of Scam and GoatRoper Boy.  So satisfying that Goatboy gets no ring, and goat caller (I find his pre-snap call annoying as fingernails on the old chalkboard) finds defeat.  Hey, it's the small things that bring true pleasure to life.

While some, like Talib, were "big money", guys like Sanders were pretty reasonable deals.

Cam acted like Cam and it shocks people?  Guy played like **** in the biggest stage possible.  He should be beating himself up.  This game always makes some loser have to "gracious" in the loss.  Let the winners have their moment and let the loser go to the locker room and be losers.

And there is this.

You forgot starting Guard Louis Vazquez (UFA) and starting Linebacker Brandon Marshall (street free agent) as well 2 defensive linemen who were part of a strong rotation in Antonio Smith and Vance Walker. 3rd safety Shilo Keo is part of threesome of safeties who were all free agents.

The guy with the now longest punt return in Super Bowl history, Jordan Norwood, was also a free agent.

The Broncos were built completely differently than the Packers.

Cameron reminds me a lot of Lebron. A physical freak in who in many ways hasn't/can't/won't master the more finesseful aspects of his position. Enabled since a young age and utterly about oneself as a consequence. Hyped beyond reasonable belief despite demonstrable and obvious shortcomings in their games. Requires the limelight.

Lebron has gotten better handlers as he's gotten older. Carolina would be smart to see that happens with their QB.

Great, great. Now let me know when we can draft Von Miller. That is the real reason the Donkeys are champs. Emmanuel Sanders? You have to be kidding me. Should we also sign a Peyton Manning type QB with 15 years of experience, a weak arm, and a penchant for INTs?

Play that I'll remember for a while. 3rd and 9. Something like 5:20 left in the game. Ball around the Denver 30. 6 point game. Kubiak dials up a run up the middle for 1 yard.

Kubiak was so terrified of gambling with Mannings dead arm that he thought a run, punt, and his defense was a far better option than letting Manning pass. (he was dead right doing what he did) But I thought to myself, self, that's the last we'll ever see of Manning.

They have Clay Matthews already. The fact is, the Broncos made some prudent investments, not just "big money, flashy" additions. Most aren't expecting the latter type, as nice as they may be. The former, however, can get teams over the hump and allow for draft flexibility at the same time.

TT does a nice job drafting, but when he flops there's no fall back to cover the gaping hole.

I remember that exact play and thought the same.  Not even going to try to get one first down.  With Peyton Manning.  It was hard to see the passes that you knew needed more zip to get where they were supposed to go but were almost picked off.

I also remember chilli's call before the playoffs started that cam had a clunker in him and sooner or later it'd come out.

I told my boy on that one "here comes one of the biggest passes of Peyton's life"...   but Kubiak made the right call.
