I have a hunch we're going to really miss Cook on Offense. Bennet gets nicked up and ole Lance just aint what he used to be. Surprise! Back to Slowdgers. We won't miss Lang. No idea how but that position is going to be quietly solidified and maybe even better.

On D; we're going to miss Hyde. Super burnt to crisp bacon at times sure but his savvy and hybrid-y came with Big plays of lettuce, tomato, mayo and marble rye to make him one special BLT. Won't miss Datone, he's good but perhaps has peaked nowhere near his draft status.

I realize signing two really good TEs doesn't guarantee they'll be able to cover Cooks 30 receptions and a touchdown. But sometimes you have to roll the ****ing dice and hope for the best.

Regarding Datone. Players win rings before they are Vikings. Players win rings after they are Vikings. Players don't win rings while they are Vikings. Datone ****ed his best opportunity. But he's always got a shot after Minny cuts him loose.

We won't miss Lang. I feel there won't be a drop off at RG, now that Lang is gone. I'm going to miss Lacy running over and through vikings players. Maybe Ripkowski and take on that role for me, this year.

I think they are going to miss Lang because right now I don't see a suitable replacement.  If we get competent it should be enough but if we get Evans past his prime with Barclay waiting in the wings, **** will get hairy.

Surprise being the key about missing Cook, right?  But you're right, I should have been clearer about that. Maybe in the post title or something

Miss: Tretter

I loved his mobility and he was a more consistent shotgun snapper than Linsley. That and if Linsley comes out it's likely Barclay at center.

Not miss: Hyde

Slow, Iowegian and Racist is no way to go through life, son.

I definitely think Tretter was the biggest loss on the oline.  I gotta believe they actually thought they'd get Lang re-signed when they let him go.

I just hope Kendricks doesn't make me say this once during the season:  catch the damn ball!

The Ram fans said the exact same thing about Cook.

Wait & see what happens when a REAL QB throws them the ball.

Will miss Peppers. He was there when it counted most.

Won't miss Fatone.

Can't agree on Cook.  His huge game in Dallas really overshadowed an injury plagued year.  If he went unreplaced, I'd agree.  But Bennett is better, especially as a blocker (which opens up even more TE usage in the offense).   And Kendricks is a better #2 than we've had in years.

And I'll go with Lang as the guy we'll miss less than we think.  He's a great guard but guard play isn't that important when you have great tackle and center play.  Depth is obviously an issue but historically, injuries to our OT's have been the issue, not interior OL.

Tretter backup center. Barclay backup center.

Barclay is a back up nothing.  Tretter has youth, athleticism and  actually can play the position effectively.  Calling Barclay a back up at guard and center is like calling me a astronaut and entertainer because I watched Star Ship Troopers and Shakes the Clown.

I hope they don't continue to miss Shields.

Yeah this is continue to be the biggest loss. He was a legit #1 CB. King has the size/speed and cover skill to be a #1, but he's still a rookie. Hopefully Randall being healthy and taking the next step will be enough to make up for not having Shields.

What the Packers need more than anything is HEALTHY corners.  Then we might be able to find who can play and who can't.  We might miss Shields - but he isn't an option either.  So I think that drafting King, taking a flier on House, and signing taller undrafted corners like Rivers, Brown, and Pipkins are steps in the right direction.  Unlike Goodson and Rollins, these three come to GB as Corners - not as conversion projects that we can't afford to have at this point.  I do realize that GB has 2 other CB conversion projects on the roster at this point as well - Waters and Pringle.  If all that works out - GREAT!  I am all for it.  The way it looks to me is that Randall and Rollins are now in a competition with 10 other guys for the starting roles.  However, I really think it is effectively 8 guys.

To be fair, Randall had a good amount of experience as a cover CB and Rollins was a CB in college for the same amount of time Shields was. So they weren't/aren't really "projects", nothing about playing CB has been foreign to them. They just have had to acclimate to playing CB full time rather than part time or a short period of time.

Maybe Kofi Amichia can be the new JC Tretter.  Tretter had a girlfriend to practice hiking to - does Amichia have a girlfriend?   Hopefully the Packer scouts covered that little detail.

Let's find him a good ole Wisconsin gal.

WRONG!  It was his sister and I wanted her to replace Campen.
