Hayes and Showy really do play fantastic defense, but holy hell, are they bad on offense right now.  Showy is throwing bad passes and Hayes is taking bad shots.  If I see Hayes petition the refs again when he needs to get back on D, I might kick the neighbors dog.  On the other hand, Charlie Thomas fails to play defense or be a factor on offense.  Alex Ill has disappeared completely.  And speaking of disappearing, where is Vito Brown at?  Iverson never fails to give good effort, but that is it today.

On the postive side, nice to see Pritzl do something.  Trice has managed OK despite two turnovers.

Where would this team be without Happ?

When you consider they shot 2-12 from 3pt range and missed 16 FTs and still won by double digits that's an impressive win.

Koenig and Printzl gave them a spark and Hayes basically took over in the second half after Happ got into foul trouble.

When UW commits to take the ball inside and to the rack inside of settling for outside shots they are tough to handle.  Happ and Hayes basically did whatever they wanted and they killed Maryland on the glass.

Good points.

My take:  Pritzl is starting to play like a Showalter Part II.   Trice is getting some confidence,, too.  I am hoping that Iverson will plahy with more consistency.   Agree that Gard righted the ship a bit.   It seems the answer to the doulbe teaming of Happ is to put him outside and clear out a bit, then have Happ dribble in and post on the dribble.   He can see the double team coming a bit earlier...he got good looks with this strategy, too.    Hayes was posting up more today.  Although he hit a few shorter jumpers, it seems Hayes isn't so confident in his 3-ball.  Good to see BK playing and hitting that 3 was exactly what Bucky needed at that point of comeback.

Tied for the B1G with 4 games to go.  At O$U and MSU the next two games will probably make or break our chances for winning the title.  Iowa and Minny to end the season at home should be wins.

Purdon't has 3 of 4 on the road.  @PSU,  @Michigan; Indiana (home); and then ends the season at Northwestern.  The way they are playing now with their bigs, I don't see them losing anymore.

Should be a fun 2 weeks.

At Michigan State is always tough and O$U can be pesky on the road.  Honestly, if UW doesn't come to play they could lose any or all of their remaining four.   Although, given their history I'm more inclined to think they win out. Today was a statement win and sent a message to the conference that UW aint dead and buried just yet.  If Koenig can get healthy and Hayes plays close to what he did today this team is a load.
