If Robin Yount is up for HOF next year, does he make it? He's my favorite player of all time. But, I do really wonder, what the environment would look like. I don't think he'd make it the first year these days. I think advanced analytics aren't kind to him. I think he'd make it, but in year like 3-4.
What say you?
And, for 60 years old, he looks great, doesn't he? Except the hair. Dude. Do something about the hair.
But, god damn, him hitting a gapper to right center and stretching it to a triple? The 1 game playoff with Baltimore? Now I'm sad about game 7 of 1982.
Not sure why I'm all wistful tonight, but here we are.
only 16 guys in the game with more hits. I don't care if it is a testament to longevity just as much as hitting proclivity, accumulating all those hits is something. He was also one of the best in the game (at the time) at two of the three most challenging positions to play.
Tony Gwynn had less hits, less dongs in a similar time span. Gwynn was named to a pile more all star games, but bfd.
If Yount had played in Chicago or NY or LA... I probably would not have been such a big fan (in order, the greatest Brewers of all time are Russell Branyan, Rob Deer, Paul Molitor, Robin Yount, Brooks Kieschnick, Tiny Felder).
He belongs. He belonged in '99 and he would now. 2x MVP, only 3rd player to do it at 2 different positions, at that time. (ARod since is the 4th)
I like that he still is referred to as The Kid.
damn you for this reminder "Now I'm sad about game 7 of 1982"
While the Cubs are going to be good for awhile, the White Sox sure have a far to be envied right now.
We signed the leading home rum guy in triple A last year?
The Brewers added the reigning Triple-A home run king on Thursday when they claimed first baseman Jesus Aguilar off waivers from the Indians.

Bob Uecker's call was better.
He missed the tag?
Saw Yount in Tucson in a spring training game (maybe 2005 or 2006?) and dude looked like he could still play. Sat right behind the Milwaukee dugout. Tough to root against that guy.
Only thing better is if Willie Mayes Hayes showed up. Miss spring training games at Hi Corbett Field and yes **** the U of A playing there.
I can remember where I was for this game like it was 10 minutes ago. On couch, Dad is sitting on the left side, I'm on the right. I don't think we moved the entire game fearing we'd jinx it.
I kind of did the same thing. I couldn't bring myself to move during that game until Robin hit the HR in to the bullpen. I knew they were going to win it at that point.
I wish I had appreciated it more back then with the Brewers.

Hot sheet singles out Gatewood and Diaz
Jake Gatewood has matched his 2016 season total of 18 walks in 27 games this year. It took him 126 games in 2016. #Brewers #MiLB

I'm kinda excited about a 6'5" first baseman who started out as a shortstop
So when do they start trading position guys for pitching?

As soon as Braun comes back and the Dodgers trade for him.
Going off topic real quick.
Went to the coliseum yesterday to catch Tigers @ A's. One day after KRod blew a one run lead Saturday he came in yesterday to save a one run lead.
Walk. Double off the wall. (Tie game). Absolute tracer that would have won the game but it was hit directly at the LF. Walk off home run. 10 total pitches.
That was fun.

Keston Hiura batting .483 (14 for 29) at Arizona. 1.391 OPS.
Tristen Lutz launches a two-run homer in his pro debut. K.J. Harrison has a pair of doubles in his. That'll do. #Brewers
