I agree that Lacy will be fine, but for the time being if he's missing his mojo, give Starks a few carries!
You can see Lacy still has it when he puts his head down and drives forward this year but he's definitely picking his spots. I guess you have to walk that fine line between running angry and running smart.

Tretter isn't a very big guy. Putting him out at tackle I'd be afraid he'd get bull rushed all the way to Kaukauna.
Tretter is 6'4" 307 lbs and played tight end in his first two seasons at Cornell, but moved to tackle, and helped the team’s offensive immensely. He started each of his final 20 games at left tackle.

It's not as a simple as runs from the shotgun versus when AR is under center, though there is an edge from the shotgon. It is more where the runs go. Regardless of shotgun or under center Lacy's success is coming up the middle behind Lang-Linsley-Sitton.
25 yards running left on 18 carries - 1.4 avg
22 yards running right on 12 carries - 1.8 avg
108 yards in the middle on 23 carries - 4.7 avg
-- Shotgun, 79 yards on 15 carries for 5.3 avg
-- Under center, 29 yards on 8 carries for 3.6 avg
Yeah, I don't get sending him outside the tackles. Maybe Starks can do a little damage out there but really all of our RB's need to be running between the tackles.

Lacy was bringing the wood last night. He steamrolled another DB on a long run before the above play took place. There was another play that Simms was gushing about, talking about his pad level and how he was lowering his shoulder for the collision.
Plenty of other plays too where he would go OOB dragging 2-3 guys, and they never got him down.
Don Hutson.

John Brockington.
James Lofton.
Sterling Sharpe.
Ahman Green.
None of them, and no other Packer, has done this.
