So true.

They could cut him out right I guess.

He just turned 30.

He's had 5 of his *8 seasons with over 300 touches.     *=last year as his 8th season when he was suspended. He also had over 350 touches his Sr year at OK.

I thought he left afather his Jr. year and had a injury shortened year at that

You could make a strong argument the team that could use Peterson the most is Indy.

They have no running game to speak of. Where they draft this year is outside the Gordon/Gurley window (they could trade up but if you're going to give away draft picks for a RB...). A RB like Peterson instantly gets them in the "best AFC team" discussion. Frank Gore isn't the answer either.

The argument against this is that Indy has let that OL go to ****. They could easily use their first 3 picks on the OL.

Hilarious to think that people honestly tried to argue that Dallas's recent cap moves to clear $10 million wasn't all about Adrian Peterson. Jerry is going to offer Minnesota his 1st round pick (maybe more) at some point between now and the draft, this couldn't be more obvious. We may not find out about it immediately if the trade doesn't go through, but he's going to try to make it happen. Personally, I want Peterson to stay in Minnesota. Dallas would be extremely difficult to beat if Peterson got to play behind that OL after taking a year long break away from football.

Jerry Jones wrote Johnny Manziel's name on his draft card last year (his son had to physically snatch it out of his hands), and you doubt he'll give up a first for Peterson? Peterson may be 30, and his contract may be huge, but with the 15 game break he had last year, he's going to be very fresh in 2015. He'd also be insanely motivated and pissed off, too. Beyond next season doesn't matter to Jerry, he wants to get back to the "glory hole" now, future be damned.

The popular consensus among the talking heads is the Vikings are rejecting any trade offers that does NOT include a 1st round draft pick PLUS a starter.

I don't see that as realistic, and it's hard to believe that even a fool like Jerruh would pay that price. Additionally, it's not realistic to assume Peterson (and/or his agent) and the Cowboys can work out a contract. Why would Peterson sign a 2 year (as an example) contract, and how could the Cowboys commit to a 4 year one?

I guess stranger things have happened...

If that's true, then the Minnesota Vikings are insane. Even though he's a HoF level player, Peterson's contract is easily one of the worst the NFL has seen over the past decade. Compare that stupid contract to what Marshawn Lynch is getting. The Seattle Seahawks would have one of the league's worst offenses without Lynch (Schneider knew it, Carroll knew it, and most importantly, Lynch and his agent knew it), and he's getting $6 million less than Peterson is getting this year. If Minnesota passes up the chance to unload that ridiculous contract (being paid to a malcontent who doesn't even want to be there) on a dope like Jerry Jones AND pick up a 1st, their entire front office needs to be fired.
