Peterson isn't going anywhere that pays him less than his current deal. Minny knows how bad Jerry wants him. The asking price for Dallas will be steep and it should be.

In the end. I don't think he's going anywhere and will play out his deal pissed off. Dallas doesn't have the cap room. AP is making $15.4 million this year. Dallas has $12 million in cap space before signing draft picks.

Someone might make a play for AP but it won't be Dallas.

They cleared $10 million overnight by re-arranging some contracts, and it takes very little money to sign your draft picks if your 1st rounder is traded away. How much money do 4th-7th rounders make? Roughly the league minimum. You guys are crazy if you don't think Jerruh is going to at least try to sell the farm for Peterson. All of the leaks, the tampering, that stuff shows a very clear intent.

And Minny knows it. So the cost they would ask from Dallas should be in line with that line of thinking.

And while they cleared $10 million it only got them to $12 million in cap space. You honestly think AP is going from $15.4 to $7 million? And Dallas is going to have a stable full of young OL with rookie deals that need to be re-done not to mention a decision on what to do with Dez Bryant.

Dallas is cap ****ed. Minny isn't giving AP to Dallas for all the reasons you've spelled out why Dallas covets him. This isn't fantasy football

Favre was single-handedly tearing the Packers apart. Every minute he was in town pulling his BS act was making the team a little bit more divided and distracted. Remember what happened when he flew into Green Bay right before the Family Night scrimmage? BrINT had to be gone. Even if TT's only offer had been a conditional 7th round pick, he would have had no choice but to take it.

But Dallas also knows that Romo's time is limited, especially with all the injuries and back. I can see Jerruh selling the farm for Peterson for a year or two and then the rebuilding has to start. He has the OL now, he has the QB who had a great year last year, and the team was really one play away (Peppers' strip of Murray, Bryant catch -- take your pick) from potentially going to the NFCC. Jerruh is impatient and wants a SB more now than he wants a steady future for his team.

Rookie RBs can come in and play right away, without the mileage and without the baggage. Taking one in the first or second would serve them well. They also need another pass rusher, a corner and maybe even a linebacker. Trading a high pick would be counter-productive and eliminate flexibility.

I'm betting AP stays with the Vikings.  RBs have almost zero trade value these days and that's evident by the lack of free agent money going to them AND the fact that Lesean McCoy, a top 3 RB in the league in his prime, was traded for Kiko Alonzo.  I just can't imagine a team giving anything more than a 4th round pick based on age, mileage, off the field controversy, and his ridiculous salary for the next 3 years.

Reggie McKenzie isn't paying that much for an older RB who has taken a ton of abuse and just missed an entire season. If I'm McKenzie I offer nothing more than their 2nd rounder plus a 4th or 5th. Plus there will be some PR backlash for taking on Peterson, the Raiders shouldn't take that headache on for that price. Maybe they can squeeze a first out of Dallas, but I don't think even Dallas would give up a 1st and a 2nd for Peterson.

Maybe this is a knee slapper from Spielman on 4/20.

No one, I mean no one, not even a drunk Jerry Jones, is giving up a 1st or 2nd and a starting DB for a 30 year old RB.

There was an article by some Vikings beat writer about a trade involving AP and the Bucs' No.1 pick. It made me laugh. The land of 10,000 delusions?

How else would any thinking person convince themselves to be a fan of that team ?

They got nothing from Moss or Favre and they'll get nothing from Peterson.

3 all- time greats:

Moss' apex was a home choke to the Falcons and 41-0 whooping in the NFC CG

Peterson never even made it out of the wild card round, sparing the chokers from even more embarrassment

And of course, Fart chock'd

Clearly...the vikings suck

Once Adrian figures out he's not going anywhere, I fully expect him to pull a Moss. Maybe turn over a lunch table or two and call the catered lunch dog food.

Even better, it's highly probable he's never playing another down for anyone other than Minny. And he's going to hate every single carry because dammit, he's been wronged by the brass. Probably feels like he's being treated like a whipped slave again. The irony.

Clown show.

If Peterson wants to take a paycut, he can go wherever he wants.  He takes a paycut to the veteran minimum for 3 years, all of a sudden a first round pick is a steal for AP.  He won't do that though.  He wants his money and wants to play for a team of his choosing.  That's just not how it works.

I hope the Vikings fine him the max for missing any mandatory activities, only to have AP eventually come back and ask for his fines to be wiped away (which is commonplace for holdouts), with the Vikings response being "hell no!" and then AP becomes a punk, tanking the entire season for them while holding back Bridgewater's development.  Nothing against Teddy, but I like the Vikings in the basement of the NFC North.

I don't think there is any guarantee he'll have a great year this year simply because he had a year off.  Sometimes a break like that without any action takes a negative toll on an ageing body.  He hasn't had contact in 15 months and that's the toughest thing to re-acclimate to.  Unless he's been working as hard as he did when he was rehabbing, which I doubt.

Peterson has been very busy outside of football, beating his kids, smoking weed and spending time with Roger.

None of those help him to be any better. Most of this is just posturing, he'll get traded and the vikes need to get enough in return to save face. In the end, its a wasted career and the only thing the vikes will save is their undisputed title as the Lords of Loserville

PS -  I hate the vikings and so does Adrian. They won't risk keeping him around because he is simply too stupid to keep a lid on the inevitable dumdum comments. They'll nuke their season if they try to keep him. Adrian is the past, get him gone
