After spending a few hours wondering what Henry would do if hired as the Viking mascot. Here's what I landed on.

He'd wander out to midfield holding up a Tarkenton jersey. Fans going crazy. He'd lay the jersey out and smooth out the wrinkles. Drop his pants and back out a steamer between the numbers. Top it with whipped cream. Ball it up and load it into a t-shirt cannon and fire it at the owners suite. Flip off the Viking sideline. Hop on the puple Harley and ride off into the nearest tunnel. Park it then urinate on it. Change into security clothes and blend into the crowd.

Actually, I would be wearing a Tommy Kramer jersey and crash the Harley into the wall, stagger around and punch a make wish kid waiting to get Bud Grant's autograph first. Then take a knee followed by shanking a FG all while playing the theme to The Love Boat over the PA.  Then the rest.

AP had an interview video in the locker room following the Denver game tagged with "Adrian Peterson thinks a 2,000 yard season is still attainable"

I thought to myself, self, they just lost a game and he whiffed on a couple blocks that got his QB blown up and he's thinking 2,000 yards is still a possibility.

Team player.

He doesn't have the OL to do 2,000 yards this season. The only reason he broke that one Sunday was the entire D sold out within two yards of the LOS. Once he was through the line, there was no one left to beat. And he's still pretty fast.

All in all, he ran 16 times for 81 yards with 48 on one play; take away one play and he zipped along 15 times for 33 yards. Plus, he's a two-down back who won't block; he effectively not only got his QB hammered more than once, but he potentially lost the game by whiffing on the block allowing the strip-sack on the final drive. And yet, all he talks about is getting his yards.

How AP thinks: AP > Team

The Vikings had a new teaching tool for cornerback Xavier Rhodes at practice on Monday: Boxing gloves. Defensive backs coach Jerry Gray outfitted Rhodes – who’s been flagged seven times this year – with gloves before position drills on Monday. “Now you can’t grab,” Gray told Rhodes. The Vikings want Rhodes to be physical, but in his third season, he’s still learning where to draw the line between putting his hands on receivers and getting called for pass interference or defensive holding.
