Heads on NFL Network seem to think Ryan is going to have the same game he had in the NFC CG. They think he'll pass for more yards than Rodgers.

I find that interesting.

He could end up passing for more yards but I would be shocked if he throws for 4 TDs and dominates.   This is a different Packers D - especially the DBs that will be playing and they didn't have Clay in that last game.

Offensively, this is a better team as well and if Rodgers can get time to throw I think he'll have a big day.   Dude heard all offseason about how ATL rolled against what was basically a backup squad and I am not sold one bit on the Failcons.

I'll go out on a limb and actually predict a Packers blowout this time around- something like 34-20 Packers.  The Packers got a great test last week unlike ATL and they will be ready to show everyone that playoff game was a fluke.

Roof will be open (apparently). 65 degrees at game time. And this new "turf" is supposed to mimic grass and not as fast as the Georgia Dome was.

Apparently a Georgia Tech game was played there and players were slipping and sliding all over the damn place.

I heard thats the same turf that the Patriots installed for this year. But the Patriots are ALREADY replacing it, without specific reasons given. Expensive mistake for them.

**** that bull**** turf.

I'm going to be really PO'd if that turf causes unnecessary injuries.

There's a reason the Cheatriots got blown out last Thursday & they immediately replaced the "brand new" turf.

So, the Chiefs slipping and sliding to 42 is all because of the turf on the field according to the Pats?

the Pats getting their ***es handed to them had more to do with the Chiefs than with that turf.

Honestly, I did not watch that game, but there were a lot of points scored in it, no different than other games played elsewhere.

The turf probably does suck, but, to me, it seems as though the Patriots are using it as an excuse for why they got butt****ed in their own stadium.

Instead of giving the Chiefs credit, they blame the turf... I guess the Chiefs were playing on a different surface....

The most storied NFL stadium has one of the best playing surfaces while completely exposed to the harshest weather conditions in football. Good playing surfaces isn't hard.

The only reason a football stadium in Atlanta has a roof is so big money can be comfy in January for SEC Championships, Bowl Games, and Super Bowls. The actual playing surface is kind of a secondary thing.

Showing the playing surface at Lambeau at the beginning of the season is not a fair comparison really. Not saying that they don't do a good job, but it can get pretty rough... Similar to how Soldier Field looks almost year round since they way overuse that field.

The other, non grass, surfaces are also about upkeep (less ideally) and consistency.

For crying out loud, it's football not baseball. It's played in the fall and winter and the game was meant to be played out of doors. The field conditions are to be a consideration in the game plan but not the primary consideration. And many times things get more screwed up when field conditions are tinkered with. Vince thought he had a great idea to head the field with coils but the moisture made it the ice bowl. Astroturfing was the rage for a while and lead to injuries. Some of the newer turf has its own problems. These are men playing a game to entertain us and employ many. Besides, a wet , muddy, frozen, snow covered field make for great entertainment while watching the game.

I think Chicago gave Atlanta everything they could handle in week one. Chicago was in the red zone with time running out and could have won that game on the last series if 1) Jordan Howard  wouldn't have muffed the catch on the 1 inch line and 2)  Chicago's receiver was being held in the end zone and no flag thrown. If the ref would have called holding on that play, it would have put the ball on the one yard line and given the Bears a 1st down with less than a minute left.
