I'm going to take a wild guess... Crabtree was interfered with, and flagrant holding should have been called on the safety. And maybe the call on Culliver that kept the Crows' drive going late in the 4th.

i thought the safety play at the end was a brilliant coaching move. I think the players were told to blatantly hold. So what if they call it. A safety if they are in the endzone which they are giving anyway and if they accept the penalty then they just the clock out. It was a no lose situation for them to hold.

Great coaching move, and it was obviously a scenario that was worked out long before Harbough (the smart brother) had the opportunity to use it. I wonder how many coaches have that call sitting their back pockets. My guess is Belicheck does. MM, maybe. I'll bet it's a fairly small number.

Let's see... the Whiners called plays that "didn't happen." They obviously let Flacco expose their secondary. That 108-yard return up the gut was just a lucky 11 seconds. They called three straight passing plays inside the five with basically a rookie QB who's a more experienced runner than a passer. Their wide receiver on fourth down runs into the DB, thus allowing him to impede his progress without a flag. They cry about being held on a safety, allowing the Ravens punter to bleed time off the clock without anyone touching him.

Heck, even I was discussing making that call right after the third-down run. I knew they could run the clock down at least 6-7 seconds. Then it was just a matter of the punter not shanking the ball. The one thing I didn't think about was to tell the line to hold, that it didn't matter if it was called. That was excellent coaching. Taking the safety was a no-brainer, I thought.
Again, the Niners D did little to slow down Baltimore's offense and this is what is frustrating about the Packers loss to SF. It was there for the taking but the Packers simply could not make enough stops defensively whereas the Ravens made the stops and got the turnovers.
This was not the same SF defense from earlier in the season when Justin Smith was healthy and those LBs weren't dinged up. Baltimore recognized it and got physical up front and then took advantage downfield with play action.
You also can't minimize the impact of special teams. Ironically, it was special teams gaffes that cost the Niners last year against the Giants as well.
All those factors and they want to whine about how they are the better team or they got screwed by the refs? Child please

I was referring to the idea of coaching your offense to blatantly hold, if that's what happened. I armchair quarterbacked the safety idea, so it obviously didn't take a genius to come up with that play.
Simms said "no I don't think you do that here", so it must have been a no-brainer.

We don't know for certain if it was Jimmy or Baalke who decided to give Ray a hall pass. Maybe Jimmy wanted him gone and Trent vetoed him which escalated the disconnect. Wild ass speculation but something led to those two guys hating each other and I don't think it was all over no contract extension. Then again maybe it did. I don't think I've ever seen Jimmy more passively non-aggressive than he's been over the past month. If SF was 10-3 and he was fully engaged last week in Seattle his head would have done a 360 on the Wilson personal foul call. He might have actually jumped Hochuli. He checked out weeks ago.

Its hard to win in this league. It's really hard to win a Super Bowl. It's damn near impossible to assemble a roster that has a legitimate shot at making a Super Bowl for 3 consecutive seasons in todays NFL.
Ted is coming off his 5th consecutive year (won 1) and his team is a strong favorite to win it all in year 6. Just a remarkable run.
