So here is Paul George and (presumedly) his agent saying he wants out of Indy and will only accept the Lakers as a destination.

http://bleacherreport.com/arti...ter-not-being-traded

The Lakers as a destination team is a thing of the past. There's nothing terribly positive going on there. Young talent, sure... and maybe there is money and "the life" that has its attraction. But if you want basketball immortality, that means rings. If you want rings, LA is simply not the place to be any more.

Paul George is an All Star, a fine player, but he isn't transcendent. He's not LeBron or what we think/hope Giannis is. So if George is really looking to solidify a legacy, really take his game to a championship level on a team that truly has that transcendent player, there really is only one place to go- Milwaukee.

So what would Milwaukee need to do to make this happen? First, they would have to include Kris Middleton in the deal. There isn't room for both players in the lineup, and Paul George is simply the better player.  Indy will want something in return of value, and Middleton is a poor man's Paul George.

The next thing you do is extend him. He has to be willing, but with an amazing new arena and billionaire owners, plus a roster coming into its own, this is the team you want to join. Paul George would be the oldest of a core group, and just entering his prime. Plus there simply is no denying it- the NBA is about star power. You compile stars added to a transcendent player and make a run at it all. The Bucks add George, and suddenly you can check every box.

Cavs and GM David Griffin part company.

Griffin was deep into trade talks for Jimmy Butler a few days ago.

Griffin is no longer with the Cavs because he and owner Dan Gilbert couldn't agree on the future direction of the team.

LeBron was a fan of Griffin.

Jerry West is with the Clippers now.

I wouldn't be totally shocked if LeBron has played his last game in Cleveland.

He's under contract this year, but his option for next year is damn near guaranteed to be an opt out. And I have thought for some time that he's gone after next year. The roster in Cleveland is eroding quickly. They're already the highest payroll in the NBA. It'll be interesting to see how much longer Gilbert will go into deep luxury tax to chase the juggernaut.

But if Cleveland was smart, getting rid of dead weight should start now. And they could still go for a title while getting rid of the crap contracts on the roster.

Sure, trade for a one year rental for PG13 if it gets you out of the rest of the Love deal? Yup. Find a taker for Tristen Thompson if you can- say for, Boogie Cousins? Throw in JR Smit in exchange for Asik and his crap contract and a pick? Sure!  New Orleans gets a playoff berth with an improved, more cohesive front line and gets rid of the horrible Asik deal. Cleveland gets a one year rental of Cousins to join with Lebron, Kyrie, and PG 13 and a shot at the Warriors.

All this Knowing full well the net result is getting out of these debilitating long term deals And you get one last title run with these stars.

Then it's all over. James isn't staying, and you got rid of all the BS contracts James forced you to sign. Then you either build around Irving on a max extension or you deal him to a contender looking for the final piece and some draft assets (paging Danny Ainge).

That's interesting, the thought of Cousins being paired with Lebron.  Lebron is possibly one of the few people in this world that Cousins would probably actually listen to and respect, so that actually could work.  I normally can't stand "cancers" like Cousins, but a guy like Lebron might be able to keep the "cancer" at bay and let Cousins use his significant talent for good.

Gilbert is enough of an overly sensitive prick that he might consider trading LeBron now and get something for him. LeBron might demand a trade.

It came out today Gilbert was talking with Chauncey Billups about the position of President of Basketball operations. Chauncey would then need to interview someone to do a job he's never done before. A GM. Billups was being considered for the president position as of this morning.

Yesterday LeBron told David Aldridge that he'd be keeping a close eye on Billups and the front office he assembled.

So LeBron is telling reporters he's potentially skeptical of the job a guy is going to do before the owner has, you know, actually hired him.

Gilbert is sure as **** going to **** this all up again like he did years ago. Don't be surprised if someone's hand is forced before next season.

Did George actually say LA or the LAL?  Reason being the Clippers might not be a bad landing spot and Indy could probably get something back in return.

Still,  it's a dumb move to call your shot now for a number of reasons.  George is a good player but not a difference maker by any stretch.   I'm not sure I would deal him for Middleton straight up as he has a bit of an attitude and KM plays hard on both ends of the court.

As for Cleveland, who knows what the **** Dan Gilbert is doing.   He might be a sound businessman but he's got some Jerruh Jones about him.  Wants to meddle and thinks he's smarter than everyone else just because he owns the team.

The smart money is on Golden State I would agree Chili

Minnesota built the Warriors with David Kahn stupidity.  They passed on Curry not once but twice in one draft. ****ing idiots.

As for Wiggins/Love deal they zero out as Wiggins is a pussy and Love is half the player he was in MN but hey - thanks Minnesoduh

Trade KG- the best player in team history- and he becomes a Paul Molitor or better yet Ray Allen and wins a title with someone else.

**** the Wolves and their bad luck and ineptitude
