Only problem is Cam's cap number is $21M and, right now, the Bears only have $14M in cap space in 2020...that's before rookie pool or resigning UFA's/RFA's. Shipping off Trubisky would free up another $9.2M, so it could work BUT they will either have to extend Kyle Long by March or exercise his 2020 option which would hit their cap at $9.6M. So really they HAVE to let UFA's like Trevathan, HHCD, Aaron Lynch, and Nick Kwiatkowski walk AND sign Cam to a new deal. Not unreasonable, just kind of a blow to defensive depth. They also have contracts for Eddie Jackson and Leonard Floyd coming up, which won't be cheap and those guys could choose to hold out while Chicago is on the ropes financially.
