Matthews is in a far better position now than he was last season. The Packers didn't have enough depth and he played far too many snaps. This season he'll likely be a situational guy and be much healthier.

Agree but not at $8 million per year. Happy for Clay getting paid but Pack can't afford $8 million for a situational pass-rusher. It sucks but this is the business side.

What I was thinking as well. This, plus look where he went. Had it been another team offering him more cash who knows, may Clay would have taken a discount to stay in GB. I’ll reiterate that Clay leaving stings like a bitch, and the more I think about it he was really the face of the franchise over the past decade minus AR. It was a unique opportunity and I don’t blame either party. Change blows ass. Especially is this case.
