There was a guy on the radio, didn't catch his name, but I guess he was a Giants assistant coach. He said he was surprised that the Packers didn't elicit input from AR. He then told a story about the NYG QB room. Sometime during the preseason, the QB position coach asked all the QB's to name their top five receivers. Eli Manning was the only one to have David Tyree on his list. Everyone was shocked and asked why, because apparently Tyree wasn't particularly fast or athletic. Eli said that Tyree knew all the WR positions, and he could always count on him to be in the right place. Manning's opinion swayed the coaches to keep Tyree on the team. And later that year, Tyree made the famous helmet catch in the SB.
