He’s obviously seeking a multiple year deal. His contract with Miami was a 1 + 1 (player option).

My guess is he’d likely take less $$ per year than 7.4M but he wants more guaranteed years. Given he’s 38 that’s a big risk.

I thought getting Matthews for basically 2M was a steal and comparable in performance to Tucker this past year.
