I know restaurants have a ridiculous markup on alcohol, but I'm sure I could find a perfectly adequate Garnacha or Viognier at the liquor store in the $20-30 range.

And no white zin or chardonnay, although I'm reminded of my niece's college graduation party, a backyard barbecue with lots of red meat perfect for red wine. My sister had three bottles of wine out: white zin, chardonnay, and moscato. Talk about stereotypes.
