Reply to "NIL"

I am not naive enough to think that players haven't been getting paid under the table, given new cars, etc. for a long time.  Now with NIL coming around I truly and honestly have no issues with players getting a piece of the pie.  But, what I think needs to happen is that there needs to be some sort of control over what they can get and where they can get it from.   Not sure how that can be done but I wouldn't trust the NCAA to do it.  They would never say it but they want the big time schools having the best players going there because they can offer more NIL deals and in turn the NCAA just keeps printing money.

An example of how it possibly is out of control is what a top ranked QB recruit at O$U got just by showing up to campus. Ewers (who has since transferred after one year) got a brand new Ford 250 Tremor that cost $55,000 not counting all of the extras the dealer put on it for free.
