My thoughts on players: feel free to disagree or say "hell, yeah!".   LOL

I'm not an expert on football... just love the game, the pre-season process, and the Green Bay Packers.

QB - refer to the article today on Packerswire why we don't need to take one early...'nuff said...good article...you should read it, if you haven't already.

RB - depends on what the team wants to do concerning AJ's contract year. Do they have anything in Dexter? If not, find someone to push for the #2 or #3 role, with an upside to be the feature back if AJ gets too expensive to keep.

WR - as a forum, we seem to be all over the board on who we should take, and where. Let's focus on what we do know.

1) We need a legit #2. Anyone disagree on that?

2) The question then becomes, do we need someone to stretch the field, or someone to win from the slot? That determines who you're going to draft. Maybe we can land the guy that can win from both positions, much like Davante does. That would be my highest hope. Who is that guy? You tell me...maybe it's Mims, Pittman, Jefferson, Higgins, or Claypool. I'm mentioning guys who will realistically be on the board at 30, or 62.

TE - If you want a TE early, I honestly think it should be Claypool. If not, maybe Trautman, or some mid-rounder.

OL - No question we need a tackle...should be a high priority. I don't know who the team likes, so I'll refer you to the RAS score article on Packerswire...you decide for yourself.

DL - I think the team needs a good nose tackle to solidify the run defense and free up Clark. The 4th and 5th rounds look like a good place to find one. Maybe someone later to develop behind Lowry.

LB - Here's another spot we're all focused on. With the signing of Kirksey, it seems clear the team wants him to be the man in the middle. The problem I see is his injury history. I can't see us going through the draft and not finding a complementary linebacker to go along with him. Who should that be? Arguably, you want a three-down prospect who can do all things...not a lot of those guys in thulis draft...maybe Willie Gay. I think Zach Baun could be that guy, but it will take a high pick...Logan Wilson can be found in 3 or 4, like Gay. Troy Dye certainly, maybe round 3.

S - Maybe the team goes with a hybrid safety-linebacker to complement Kirksey. I could see that, too...Dugger and Chinn fit the bill...maybe there's another player or two who fit. I don't know.

CB - Can't have enough good corners, right? I think we'll certainly draft one...

Those are my thoughts...just want to add some ideas for discussion.

Disagree.

Disagree.
