Sadly, they have tried this before with the likes of Nick Perry, Jerel Worthy, Datone Jones, Khyri Thornton, Clinton-Dix, Damarious Randall, Quentin Rollins, etc. etc. etc.  Clinton-Dix was decent early on and Perry had 1 good year, Kevin King is okay when healthy, but that’s about it for that mediocre at best list of players the Pack tried to throw at their defensive deficiencies.  

They are just very poor at identifying talent for fixing the D with Alexander and Clark being the lone exceptions.  Maybe Savage will develop, but just lots and lots of mediocrity and disappointments the past decade.

So true so very true.  And its only going to get more and more difficult to identify defensive talent as college football teams are playing less defense than ever.  Even Saban made some comments recently that its great offenses that win games now not defenses.   I have to wonder if the NFL will evolve that way as well because of that.
