No he did not.  Batted .406 in 1941, teams at full strength.  Won the Triple Crown in 1942.  Not sure how watered down the roster were that season.  Lost the 1943, 1944 and 1945 seasons to the war.  Also lost the parts of 1952 and 1953 seasons to the Korean War.  All in all I think the wars hurt Williams more than it helped him.  And Joe DiMaggio benefit the from the same watered down pitching in 1941 which lead to his 56 game hitting streak?  Did you also know during Joe's 56 game streak Ted had a higher batting average over the same period of time?
