Reply to "Rodgers not Elite?"

There was mention of the Fennell critque above.  On his same site, he has the Rodgers throw to Jennings in the Super Bowl.  Jennings was closely covered, hadn't gotten close to the spot where he caught the ball when it was released---yet the ball was thrown because Rodgers knew ("trusted") he would be there.

Showing clips of receivers "open" doesn't mean much if one doesn't know the play call and where the receiver was supposed to be.  We are never going to know, because the coaches and Rodgers aren't going to break down the film and tell us, for example, that "WR "X" was supposed to be 6 yards deep and two yards past the right hash on the play when we see him open on film 10 yards deep and two yards to the left of the hash.   When you are throwing the ball 2-3 seconds after the snap, as Brady said above, "‘If you want the ball, this is where you’ve got to be..."

I suspect that Rodgers holding the ball, as frustrating as it is to fans, has a lot to do with receivers not being precisely where they are supposed to be when he is initially set to throw.

The "off schedule" plays seem to work a bit better because the receiver doesn't have to be in a precise spot, but simply react to the QB movements and move towards a spot that the QB can throw to.

Add one more from MLF presser today "When I talk about all the plays we left out there, I think not all of us were on our details..."
