Reply to "Rodgers Wants A New Contract?"

Rodgers wants control, as Brandt said. He played his hand right before the draft, through his agent, thinking that would be the best time for getting/taking control. The Packers didn't flinch. They didn't because they had control before this happened and still do. If he really wanted to get control, he needed to start this public conversation back in late Feb. Now, he's more at the mercy of the Packers than he would have been 2 months ago.

I think Rodgers' camp did it right before the draft to try to put the most public pressure on the side they think is being unreasonable.

I also still think AR wanted the Packers Front Office's 2021 draft to be just as miserable as his was in 2020 (an opinion shared by the one journalist I like in Aaron Nagler).

I'd say it worked on both counts.  (Who did we draft again?)

I also think making them squirm like this is some satisfaction in and of itself for a guy like AR, and if they budge even a little now he'll belly up to the table and join the team.

This is fixable and it's going to happen, for the simple reason that it makes the most sense for both sides.

If it doesn't, then I agree heads need to roll.
